Just bought my first foam gun. Can I use any car wash soap?

I bought my foam gun and the Honey Dew stuff in 2016. I've never tried any other soap with the gun. The gallon of Honey Dew lasts a loooong time. You dilute it with water before filling your gun reservoir. I mix it in a gallon jug and use it from there.

Technically you can any car wash soap, but there are many on the maket made for this specific application, and they would work much better. Search You Tube for "best foam cannon soap" and you'll go down a very deep rabbit hole.

Like the OP said, anything will work but best to use something designed for it as it'll work better.

But, a bit of advice in case your situation is like me. I bought a cheap pressure washer (Ryobi) and foam cannon (Chemical Guys). I was hooked, never going back to regular hose/bucket setup. But, the setup was clunky. The hose sucked, even the upgraded one I bought, the foam cannon would constantly tip over, the wand was too long, the fittings suck and didn't swivel.

After my cheap pressure washer crapped out I splurged and stepped up into the entry/mid level stuff you'll find on Obsessed Garage. HOLY CRAP, what an improvement. This higher end stuff seems like a waste of money until you actually use it. Specifically, the hose, wand, nozzles, correctly sized orifices, higher end fittings...etc. It's a night and day difference in ease of use, much more efficient in terms of your time washing, and higher performance. Before actually using it I just didn't comprehend how these little components would make such a big difference.

I had this stuff left over from pre-cannon. Figured I'd throw it in the foam cannon and if it works great, if not I'll get something with 'foam cannon' in it's description. Works perfectly fine, it produces a nice thick foam but not before changing the orifice nozzle to a bit smaller from what came with the cannon.

The bottle says "shampoo and conditioner". I wonder what it's conditioning, the taco doesn't have hair. Sounds like it's for people.

Get a 50ft Flexzilla hose. The standard 25ft hose is worthless.

Is the Flexzilla hose known for mold issue?

Most of the bad reviews are from mold.

I’d had seen that with their garden hoses. But no issue with my pressure washer one but it also gets hung to dry in the garage.

check out IamJoshV on youtube and dig into his foam cannon reviews and some of the pressure washer reviews too. you will want to check and see if your foam cannon has a 1.1MM orifice and the foam screen. if you aren't using a pressure washer and just a regular garden hose and the foam guns, you wont get the thick foam you will see on the videos. for thicker foam it comes down to GPMs in your pressure washer and the foam cannon itself.

for soap you will want to look for snow foam styles. the Chemical GUys honeydew is good and i think they have another one called Mr Pink (maybe).
