I just bought some focal IS toy 690 components for my front speakers. New to car audio install and crutchfield has them as won’t fit. Will I need any mounting brackets or any additional pieces to install these speakers?

    thanks!

Do you for sure need the tweeter brackets? The second reply has a picture saying they’re included

    thanks

All good. I just wanted to make sure you hadn’t put these in and realized you needed a bracket. But hopefully focal is good and it all fits. Thanks :)

I have read that the mounts kinda put the tweeters at a weird angle on the tacomas, but I think if you flip the mount over it puts it in the correct place.

I'm interested to hear how you like them as I'm considering the same speakers. Do you have a JBL system? Where'd you buy the speakers?

    Non JBL System
I bought the speakers from a local dealer that had them in stock. They were 399 cdn. I am going to install them when I get back from out of town. Around the 21/Mar so I can let you know then. I am probably going to leave them unpowered for now and eventually get a Kicker Key to power the speakers

Double check the box you got, I think toyota switched the plugs on the speakers in 2021. So if you got a older model of the focals they may only have the old style speaker plugs. There should be 2 different plugs for the speakers in the box to switch between model years.

Any idea if this is the right one? The car audio place I bought it from said they just installed one in his sons 21 Tacoma last week and didn’t mention anything about plugs

So the black ones are for the tweeters, the white ones the woofers. Your going to use the wide black ones on the tweeters.

Doing some more research on it, seems it might just be the rear speakers that changed plugs so for your front you should be good.

@cf250 Did you ever install this and if so, were there install issues? Did it sound good?

I did. We’ll I had them installed at a shop because I was having two amps and a sub installed too. As far as I know it was as easy as it says.
    They sound great though
