    UPDATE:

Well so far the fogging/condensation hasn't returned.

Just waiting on a new bulb to come in from the TRS. For some reason I think the driver side bulb is done. It will turn on but only for a second then shut right off. Check all the cords and ballasts with the passenger side and they are fine.

So hopefully the new bulb will fix that and I can drive the truck around again. Been borrowing my dad's Acura so I don't have to drive with a headlight out.

TRS btw has amazing customer service. :D:D:D

So no fogging but my driver side still won't stay on. The light clicks on for a second and turns off. I've switched ballasts on both sides and it seems one might be bad but when I put everything into the housing and mounted the light back on the truck on the good ballasts won't even work now.

Seeing if it's a ground issue
Jw if any of you pros have other ideas.

I would guess ground if youve already switched ballasts.

Make the fitter re-do them is the best option.
You were in my shoes, got tired of jacking with my retros so I went back to stock and couldn't be happier.
Where did you install the grounds, you should have 2 (one for each lamp). Also might, just might be a lamp.

Didn't realize you had so many issues with your lights. How much did you pay for your retros? And who'd you buy them from?

The issues don't seem to bad for me. I only had to pay for parts and trade my OEMs.

Like I said the lights are amazing and the work is really good. They were built by an awesome member on here.

I expected fogging might happen with the quick weather changes in Oregon. The DtRl caught us both by surprise especially since he test ran them on his truck for a few weeks.

I think once I talk to the TRS tomorrow when the open and get them to sen me a new ballasts it should all be fixed.

After trouble shooting with my dad all day that's nth only thin we could come up with was a ballast just crapped te bed.

Ifs a first world problem I try to stay positive the maker of my lights is a stand up dude and has been helping me throughout the process and I'm happy with them just trying to fix the issues that's all. At least my truck still runs great and my daughter is healthy. :)

Hopefully that's it. Wasn't insinuating the builder is poor, just curious if you maybe had a bad batch or something that that person might need to address.

Maybe who knows I'm just hoping any future mods I do don't require this much trouble shooting.

We had a quick weather change in Texas last week and my drivers side fogged on me. I think this thread jinxed me lol. Turns out the parking light bulb had popped out and unsealed that area causing all the moisture to seep in. Time to bake and clean lol.

Sounds like most of your issues came from using crappy housings.

Maybe, but from what I've read as long as you seal the headlights good it's fine. Lots of people have used cheaper after market housings to do retros.

Yeah its just a re-sealing issue. Aftermarket housings are fine so long as they get sealed ok.

So I put an extra layer of sealant around the entire headlight a few weeks ago along with drying everything out. Been driving around since then and no fogging or condensation.

Well I drove the truck tonight and just noticed it started raining so I went outside to check on the lights. And saw that both of my headlights are fogged/have condensation on the entire lens.

I thought I soled the problem but I guess not. All the caps and bulbs are put in properly. There are no housing caps though where bulbs are the mare left those off. This is getting really depressing. I like these lights but they have been nothin but a headache so far.

Any ideas my fellow Tacoma world members?

Sell the headlights cheap to me.......just joking

To start I would take both lights off the truck Again yeah I know what a pain. Shake the lights softly to move all the water off the lens then Dry them with a hair drier or what ever, the shaking allows most the water off the lens so it doesn't leave dry marks on the lens. I believe another guy said the same thing it will look like crap which would bother the hell out of me to see water marks on the inside.
Sense you "sealed" the light already the second time now your going to test your seal job! Tape off the bulb holes well then Fill your sink or tub up with water then put the headlight lens down in the water Only enough to have water over the lens seal of housing do not let the water in the bulb holes. Hold the light there for a few mins if there is water in the lens after to check then theres your problem, if theres no water then its the bulb socket, cracked housing... Somewhere else allowing the air temps in the housing change causing the moisture

    Let us know

I baked them few times before and no problem. About your DTRL melting though it's actually the housing, not bulb. May i ask when you swap your headlight housing, was it an OEM for OEM swap or your OEM for aftermarket? Which you have now. here's what happened when i went with TYC aftermarket brand.

No these are eagle eyes afm housing and yeah that looks like what happened to me. That's pretty crappy.

I had to actually sand down the sides to get the bulbs out bc they pooped off

EDIT: Here's a picture I finally pulled the Lens off today. Looks like we both have the same issue

    UPDATE:

Okay so I finally pulled the lens off today (didn't bake them though used a hairdryer and it did the trick).

I pulled the lens off and cleaned them up and also made sure everything was dry. I added some more sealant and closed them back up and also added more sealant around the outer part of the housing.

On order are currently some silica gel packets and rubber housing caps from TRS.

Hopefully maybe I will be lucky enough and not have any more fogging/condensation.

Will post updates when new info arises. Thanks to everyone for all the help.
