Thanks for the reply Pugga I am trying to post a pic of it. I went through the forum looking at everyone's picture and my gap is much bigger. I am wondering if I just pull the light towards me more and just use a longer bolt as opposed to pushing to so far back as well Or just using the guard.[IMG]

I think they look great with the guards on! I stole this from Dark Knight's build thread.

I can't see your pictures. I'm at work though and it blocks random pictures on me because of our security stuff. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the ones it blocks either, it's frustrating. All I can see is the red X.
    :redxfall:
It sounds like you have the solution though, just mess with bolt lengths a little until you get the fit you're looking for.

Thanks Pugga I am at work as well. I appreciate all the help if you never need free wifi at an airport let me know. If you get bored at home take a look at the pics let me know if you have any ideas. I am not going to install until this weekend I want to be able to take my time with the wiring and not rush anything so I have a full day to work with.

No problem, I hope they end up fitting in there well.

Will do, I don't have any problems viewing things on my home computer. If you need some help with the wiring let me know. I've got my set of PIAA's hooked up to a factory fog switch and had to figure my way around PIAA's wiring diagram.

Thanks dark knight are you able to see the pictures? Is there a way to make that look cleaner without the guard?

I do see pics in this thread but none of them are under your posts??? The 510's are a little small without the covers on them I believe. PIAA does make a kit that includes the 540 lights which are a little larger to fill out the hole.

    Bit more expensive though. http://powerandplay.com/truck_accessories_parts/PIAA_5454/

Thanks for the info Dark I thought about the 540 but a lot of people said they were to big and stuck out too far. So I went with the 510's you should see the picture of the light without the guard and you can see the the huge gap that shows the whole inside of the factory whole. Is there way to tighten that up? Should I just use even longer bolt and just pull the light out further? My other idea was just leaving the guard on and move on with it.

The whole issue with the guard off of the 510 is the stability of the light. After all, the mounting point is just plastic holding a rather heavy light acting as a heavy weight on the end of a lever. The farther the light is from the actual mounting point the less stable it will be. I had my lights mounted as far back in the hole as possible and used the guards as stabilization.

I'm not sure of that specific method. In any case if you want your PIAA lights to work anytime, without doing any other wiring, just run the white wire w/ little red hash marks to the parking light hot wire.

On the PIAA harness the white/ red hash wire coming from the switch is the "switch power" and will allow the PIAA lights to be turned on when ever your parking lights are on if wired like described above.

I suggest this method because in many states it is illegal to run the lights without parking/tail lights also on.

Dark, that sounds perfect just to make sure this will allow to hit the switch anytime so they will run when the high beams are on and turn off with the ignition?

This way you can't leave them on by accident. They'll turn off with the ignition.
