The easiest way either way would be to simply use the headlight low beam and ground to trigger a relay... pin 85 and 86.
Run pin 30 to a fuse to the battery, and pin 87 to the fogs.

On and off with the low beams.

Would you happen to know where that pin might be? The low beam pin.

I bought 2011 Toyota Camry fog lights and with slight modification to the tabs, they work great. Install is easy and I used the fog light switch that came with them and I put it next to AUX switch, works great and it is same OEM look.
Paid $69 on eBay including shipping.

Tap into the wiring on the back of the connector that plugs into the headlight.

To avoid cutting into the factory harness, you can use an extension and splice into that....

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/7x6-CERAMIC...Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cfe48805a&vxp=mtr

On this socket, you could connect the relay coil to the black and white wires, which are the ground and low-beam.

Extension in, lights wired, relay wired, switch wired, (both ways) but the lights will not come on with switch. I don't get it. Got something wrong somewhere.

Bump. So what fuse do I tap to illuminate the toyota fog light switch. I want the fogs to shut off automatically when the truck shuts off, does wiring it this way do that?

Ok, so I'm still super confused. I beleive I should do this with the relay:

But how do I wire up the toyota fog light switch. Please pretend I'm a super idiot and tell me literally where each of the 4 fog light switch wires go if I want the fogs to work anytime the truck is on (or just when the lights are on), but not be able to work when the truck is off.

Factory 4-pin switch: The two pins closest to the side connect to the light. Those connect to the dash illumination, or you can simply connect one to ground and one to your supply (coming from the parking light)... it'll come on with the parking lights, but won't dim with the dash.
The two pins in the center of the switch are the contacts. It doesn't matter which one goes to the relay pin 85 and which goes to the parking light hot... it's just a contact closure.

Factory 6-pin (FJ Cruiser) switch: Identical to the above for the pins in the same 4 positions.
The other two switches are for the indicator lamp. Connect one to ground, connect the other to the same pin that is connected to relay pin 85.

So you CAN wire the whole thing with only 2 wires going through the firewall... the hot from the parking lights, and the output going to relay 85. The ground wire can be connected under the dash, or run through the firewall to a bolt on the fender.

I have the 4 pin switch. Does it matter which side I connect to power and which side I connect to ground for the illumination pins? Also do you know where is a good place to ground the switch inside the cabin?

Order of the pins doesn't matter... it's an incandescent lamp so there is no + or -, likewise the switch is a simple SPST.

There should be a good grounding point under the driver's kick panel, or you might be able to find a bolt on the steel dash crossmember near the fuse box.

Just contributing back since this thread saved the day. I followed with post #14

    For OTRATTW switches:

    V1DAF & V1D1F
Pin 8: Positive lead from dash illumination, green wire, pin 1 on OEM switch
Pin 7: Ground lead from dash illumination, green/white wire, pin 2 on OEM switch (you can also use ground from dimmer switch, IIRC, white/purple wire)
Pin 6: dependent lower light. The OTRATTW schematic says connect this to ground or pin 7. However, if you do this, it will make the light come on when the switch is off, and turn off the light when the switch is on. I tried jumpering between this pin and pin 3, but it does nothing. Maybe someone smart can help on this one
Pin 3: out to fog lights, blue wire, pin 3 on OEM switch
Pin 2: from source/relay, white/black wire, pin 4 on OEM switch

    V1DAG66GB & V1D1GHTB
I did not use this switch - I'm simply providing a standard pinout.
Pin 8: Positive lead from dash illumination, green wire, pin 1 on OEM switch
Pin 7: Ground lead from dash illumination, green/white wire, pin 2 on OEM switch (you can also use ground from dimmer switch, IIRC, white/purple wire)
Pin 3: out to fog lights, blue wire, pin 3 on OEM switch
Pin 2: from source/relay, white/black wire, pin 4 on OEM switch

I got the otrattw switch to work on factory fog i got independent upper and lower led with independent switch and wired them to work right externally instead of having them wired in light top light is lit from factory wires coming from dimmer ran negative in to switch from factory wire jumped down to negative on bottom light then out to relay then I just jumped down from positive on top light to bottom light the bottom light will come on in the running light and high beam position if u have not done the fog light mod

If you could slow down a second and re-explain what you did I would love you forever.

Or at least for a few hours.
