Ok here is what I did number 8 is green wire + from light number 7 is green and white wire - from light this will run your top light and will dim with dimmer number 2 is black and white wire I made a jumper from number 3 to number 9 this will complete the ground to bottom light and relay then I ran the blue wire out of number 9 to finish I ran a jumper from number 8 to number 10 for the + on the bottom light hope this clears a little up also I noticed that when the high beams were on or I just had the parking lights on the bottom light would come on I did the fog light mod and it fixed that problem

    the diagram shows v2d2u66b
    my invoice shows v1d2uhhb

I just called them and told em what I was wanting and he fixed me right up on the switch

When you say 'relay', did you have to buy an actual relay, or are you just using it as a conversational term? I'm just making sure that I know everything I need.

Dang I have a V1DAF/V1D1F, looks like I might have to order another switch then.

    Great rundown, plndrvr!

I ran across issues and had called the guys at OTRATTW when this thread dead-ended prior to your posts. They advised a similar configuration, citing that the factory fog light switch is on the ground side of the circuit - why my first switch (a V1DA dependent/independent variant) would only light up when the fog lights were off, and vice versa.

OTRATTW's customer service was great! They sent the approprate switch (a VAD2 variant w/ both lights independent), and I wired it in with jumpers.

I knew it could be done the only prob I had was the bottom light coming on when the headlights or running lights were on but the fog light mod fixed that problem

    Won't get them on eBay.
You can get them from Camelback Toyota for around $40.
Same part number your dealer likely quoted, but using the internal book.
Your dealer CAN use that book for OTC sales, but he won't.

BTW: MSRP is only $56. If your dealer is asking $85, they're ripping you $30 above list.

I'm here for knowledge folks, please feel free to inform me. On my 2008, the fog lights would work when I held the switch in but would turn off when I let go of it. Like the switch wouldn't stay part way in to keep the lights on. So I epoxied it in the on position. Now my fogs just stay on like my headlights. I never turn any of them off. Is this silly? Should I just get a new $12 switch from OTRATTW? I'll probably burn down the neighborhood trying to wire it. I just read this whole thread and still have no clue what to order or how I'd wire it. This one?http://otrattw.com/proddetail.php?prod=V1D1J66B-AFC4S-17V

I already have the fog light anytime mod done and my switches are three prong switches (ground, load, supply). Thanks

Great, thanks! Can I do it without a relay just a fuse?
*edit* what is the purpose/need of a relay?

I keep seeing situations occur with these threads that seems to be coming from using different versions of the Bosch relays. One type has an output that flip flops the power on and off the output pins when the relay is energized - it has a normally open and a normally closed pin. The other type is often called a "lighting relay" and the two output power pins are twinned - normally open. When powered - they both come on. Usually each is good for 15 AMPs or more and that's the one you want for lights - a heavy leadwire to each lamp from each output pin. Guys trying to do this stuff without a meter to check circuits are really fighting an uphill battle!

I took the second from the top wire that says it goes to 12v relay and put it into the output of a 3 post switch and it worked great when I did it but now the lights wont come on. I dont think it a wiring issue but I will make sure tonight. If its nit wiring what else could it be?

Alright just dinked with it. Looks like the fogs turn off when the key gets turned on. Some thing to do with the relay im guessing
    Anyone have a fix?
