Fogs as daytime running lights. I wired relay into running lights without a switch and leave running lights on (auto shutoff).

I plan on running mine all the time so I can really piss off the people who don't run them all the time.

I also plan on not using them in fog or other inclement weather where it would be safe to do so. And while I'm at it, I'm turning off my headlights at night as well so I won't blind any oncoming traffic. Just use a Maglight in my right hand instead.

Only in fog or when driving on a barely lit road. Then hi-beams + fogs.

That would be Nice , but someone @ Toyota decided we don't have enough sence to be allowed to use our"tools" the way we might want to. The fog lights turn off when one turns on "their" High Beams.

I like having my fogs on all the time, yet I haven't been able to do the anytime fog light mod. Gotta get to it soon.

    Like having my 6000k HID's on :D

On and with HID's! I think our fogs give out crazy light output.

In SC it seems like everyone with fogs keeps them on. And really, if an oncoming car is distracting me, its not the fogs, its the improperly aimed headlights. Or they drive with their highbeams on because one headlight is out or just to have them on. I swear I flash people at least twice a day just because they have their highbeams on. Honestly I have bigger things to worry about while driving than if someone has foglights on that, oh by the way, are pointed at the ground.

I did dtrl mod and fog anytime mod and have never once been flashed because of it.

    Fogs on all the time.

When I see fog lights on during the day, or on during a clear night, while driving down the road at speed, I think to myself "noobs!" To each his own but to me, seems like you're just burning up bulbs for no good reason. And don't tell me the fogs help at night while you roll at 55+ mph. The throw from those things can't be far enough to make a difference for reaction time; what is it - 50 ft, if that? You out drive them in a millisecond. If I need to see shit, I turn on high beams. That lights up the deer and crap well down the road. I turn on my fogs when my low beams are like pencils. That means, uh, it's foggy out! Then, I am driving much slower than usual and the fog lights help in that case.

Fog lights on anytime or whatever mod seems about as useful as reverse lights on anytime! But what the hell do I know.

I know I am in the minority, but that's good by me.

It's not Toyota, I think it is federal motor vehicle standards that require it. All vehicles are designed this way.

Besides, fog lights and high beams are for opposite use. High beams should be further down the road for higher speed travel. At highway speeds, the part of the road fog lights illuminate is completely useless. They're only meant to illuminate the first 30 feet or so of roadway to help you get through pea soup weather at low speeds.

60MPH is 88 feet per second. That means your foglights give you less than half a second worth of light. If you don't see an object until it's in your fog light area, it's too late.

Also, having too much foreground lighting damages your distance vision.
