For any of you guys w/ 2012's that are anal about their trucks like I am, I've attached my take on wire routing using 16AWG. I removed two more relays than necessary (so it took me 5 minutes instead of 2) but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

OV: Thanks for sharing this mod!

LED conversion on every accessible bulb, TRD exhaust (dealership threw in for free along with the Blu-Logic).
I wish I had found this thread earlier. I originally installed 3000 Kelvin HIDs in my fogs which required the use of a relay harness. I too am really anal about my wiring, everything sleeved, soldered, shrink tubing etc. I actually had run a wire through the grommet for the hood release cable and used a Scion type switch to provide power to the relay harness and tapped a fuse behind the toll booth coin box. I used a BUSS brand "piggyback" fuse holder for my setup. I was able to trigger the fog-lights "anytime" the ignition is on. I am going to switch over to this mod so I can have my factory fog-light switch back in control of my fogs. Now this will give me an alternate switch for when I get my Rigid Industries lights. For a while I was going to use the factory fog-light switch and plugs to run some Rigid Industries lights out back for reverse and/or tailgaters! If I had only spent more time under the fuse box lid I might have come up with this and it would have saved me the PITA of fishing the wires through the firewall grommet. I can't wait to set this up in the morning, it will be nice to have the fogs back on the timer/exit delay.

Thank you OLY

Woke up this morning and started my pot of coffee. Coffee was still brewing when I finished this mod. That includes reversing my "Anytime Fog" mod and switching to this mod.

Thank you OLY
Well...

I know this was/is a sticky, but wanted to pass on my results of this mod as well as changing factory white bulbs to the Nokya Arctic Hyper Yellow 45W fogs...

The mod I used was previously posted by lextech...pull the fog relay and bend tab #1 flat...connect a 22g-18g female blade connector...take short length of 18g wire and splice and crimp/mate with the female blade connector connected to tab #1 on the fog relay, re-install the fog relay...then take the other end of the 18g wire, splice, and insert the spliced end of wire into socket #3 of the towing tail relay...re-install the towing tail relay...this mod took all of five minutes...I also swapped out my stock fogs for the Nokya Arctic Hyper Yellow fogs...I'll post some illuminated pics tommorrow...also, remember to swap out the rubber gaskets from the factory fog bulbs to the Nokya's so that they fit properly!!

The fog light mod is great...

fogs come on with parking lights...
fogs come on with headlights...
fogs come on with high beams...
the mod this way is "fuse protected"...
I did notice that the green fog on illumination on the dash does not illuminate when the fogs/parking lights are on, but when you switch to headlights it illuminates...

great mod...fool-proof...no splicing...or having to remember if you turned off your fogs as with the other fog light on anytime mods...this way the fogs turn off with the factory timer off light switch...
Is there a mod to where you can run your fogs and nothin else? [IMG]

Thanks OP, great quick mod! I did this mod in less than 5min, almost too simple. I do like that it is tied to the light switch and fog switch instead of just anytime fog lights.

ok so i did this and found out that when i hook up my trailer, the lights don't work unless the fogs are off, anyone run into this (didn't feel like going through the whole thread) and also my blinker is opposite, i wonder if i shorted that relay or something

Are you sure the twisted end of the wire is firmly set into socket # 3 of the trailer relay and the relay is also re-inserted firmly?? I tow a Wells Cargo weekly and have not had an issue running fogs while towing...let us know--OLY

i think wen i first did it i shorted the relay or something because i just pulled the wire off so its back to normal and put the relay back in and it still does the same thing so i guess time to go to auto zone

I did the "anytime fog lights" mod a few months ago and then a few weeks later I replaced the OEM lamps with LEDs. Hard to tell from the pics, but it's a lot cleaner, whiter light (first pic has LED on left/OEM lamp on right; second/third pic both LEDs). Next I'm adding LEDs to the corner parking lights since these are on at the same time as the fog lights.

I got them off ebay. I accidently purchased them from hong kong instead of inside the u.s. but, they work well and were very inexpensive.....$7.28 total. 9145 LED bulb. Says it's white light, but it has a blue tint to it at night.

Is the towing tail relay called anything else? That's what it says under the fuse box too, but the guys at napa didn't know what I was talking about...

. I called napa and orilleys askig for the towing relay and both didn't have it available. When I first asked them about it, they didn't even know what I was talking about. I called Toyota and they said $90 for the relay.

so I decided to try this way. It was very easy to do! How is this style holding up for everyone else? I just Jammed the 18g spliced end into the slot and put the fuel pump relay in after it. is there a better way? Lol what does that fuel pump relay 3rd prong(output) do?

First mod for my baby. Very easy, great instructions OP! Fair warning to anyone who's about to do this: make sure you have a good firm grip on the relay when you're pulling it out. I didn't. My fog relay fell and got wedged between the wheel well and the firewall. Not the most fun 10 minutes I've ever had.

Now for the DRL/Alternating blinker...
