What's with the dislike of pickles?

They add some good acidity and crunch to the sandwich -
I got this batch from work; one of my co/workers grows the cukes and the other turns them into tasty pickles..

I'm a pretty adventurous eater but I find pickles to be disgusting alone but a nice complement to sandwiches. Can't explain it.

... I used to live part-time very close to northern Myanmar in a place called Chiang Rai, Thailand and this was close to and gets confused with Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Chiang Rai is the city where there kids got stuck in the cave in June, 2018.

Speaking of "crackers" ... that was one of the first foods that they took to the kids ... "crackers" in plastic bags.

Our house was in a gated subdivision not far from that cave.

Pretty sure it was the combination of both taste and texture in a specific sandwich or burger many years back. I disliked it and just refuse to get it on anything I eat.

Sometimes, a food item doesn't have to taste bad, it could be texture alone that one doesn't like.

Think it was both for me.

 

They are great on cuban bread sammich

I used to have a similar sentiment about eggplant, mostly bc growing up, my mom would half-ass cook eggplant and not season it either so it was a mushy bland pile of gross .. I hated the taste and texture.

Then a few years back I figured I'd try again (ya know since it had been 20yrs) and I managed to make eggplant good. Salted it first to get the excess water out and then seasoned it really good before roasting - definitely not mom's swill eggplant!

 

Some people's kids, ya know. Just no helpin' 'em

Its a "dough". Uses flour, coconut flour, nutritional yeast, seasonings, egg whites and greek yogurt. The consistency is a thick wet paste that you spread out on the pan
