    I have never had a problem with the 8" rear diff on my offroad, but after reading some ttora threads about the weak 3rd members on them, if I had to do it over again I would go with an sr5 with ARB rear or possibly the sport model. Its shitty toyota decided not to put the 8.4 diff or totally different diff with the e locker. More horsepower/weight+same rear end in the older models is a recipe for destruction IMO. It all boils down to them not having to upgrade their production line in order to make a different rear diff for the e locker to save $$$ I guess. If mine ever explodes I am going to be extremely pissed.

    ARB's>ATRAC....I personally hate computer controlled traction systems, and will never own one:D

    I am sure we each think "ours" is the best deal. I am not claiming to be the best truck, as we all get a truck based on our likes or needs.

    My whole goal is only to inform new buyers that the pure stock Off Road 4WD Tacoma is a most capable off highway truck, and doesn't require aftermarket traction aids to go almost anywhere, thus saving you thousands. In other words, give the Toyota a chance to show you how it works. Most of the new Sport 4WD owners I know and talked with about the differences didn't realize what A-TRAC was or could do... and would have gotten an Off Road if they knew.

    I am trying to save future new Tacoma buyers from getting less than they would like... everyone else with a Tacoma Sport that doesn't need all four wheels working for them, I am sure they enjoy their truck... I have no issue with their purchase... and I am happy they have a Tacoma and not a Nissan or Chevy!

    I am sorry that my pointing out the Sport hood scoop is for looks or blocks over-hood vision upsets some, please forgive me... Happy Easter Everyone!
