I read thread, after thread, after thread on this site. It's just wa wa, wa wa wa, wa.wa.wa....... Sounds like the School teacher on the Charley Brown cartoons. Never an opinion, idea or suggestion. Just Blah Blah.. :boink:

    Just kidding. :D

But now that I have your attention I would like to get your opinions and thoughts on a serious mod. Something that is very difficult to change or correct if done wrong or incorrectly. It's an off topic mod question that I could have inserted into a current thread. But I wanted as many opinions and thoughts on this as possible.
It may take me 3 or 4 posts to get to the question as I get interrupted or must see to other obligations. So please bear with me.

I will thank all of you in advance for you thoughts and opinions.

Please be open and honest. "Like I really had to say that"

    So here goes.
I have one completed Black and Grey Tattoo. A half sleeve on my right upper arm.
Totally healed and about 6-8 months old.
I have added a poll. It is not about this Tattoo so please wait til I finish posting the question to vote.

Here it is. Right half sleeve.

My artist and I got started.
After 2 sessions and about 10 hours of work. Here's where were we were at. Please look over all the pics. It's hard to take a good one by yourself.
We added the sword, and changed the skull and helmet design.

    upload_2017-9-6_12-18-2.jpg

On the 3rd session we started on the forearm. It's totally different from the original. The Dragon is completely different and moved to the outside. The swirl designs have been removed. And the Finger waves have been moved to the underside of my forearm.

So that brings us to where we are at now and the question.
On the next session (6 hours) we will finish the top of helmet and the designs around it. Finish joining the upper and lower arms tougher around the elbow,
and any other small details. Basically just bringing the tattoo together This will be done next week. I know that this is an unfinished and unhealed tattoo.
And after about a 4 weeks healing time my artist will do the highlights and any touch up needed.

So here's my question that's took me way too damn long to get to. Should I stick with Black and Grey? Or should I add in an accent color? (prefer orange hate Red).
Now I do like the idea of adding one accent color to the Maple Leaves. But my Artist says that being we have moved the Dragon to the outside of my forearm. That if we color the Maple leaves on the outside of my shoulder and being there are no leaves on the outside of my forearm. That the Tattoo will be unbalanced. Color wise.

EDIT.. To the original post. What I failed to mention is that my Artist has suggested to balance out the Tattoo. Is that we color the Dragon Orange like the Maple leaves. He says this will balance out the tattoo from top to bottom on the outside of my arm. And that this one bold accent color will help highlight the Black and Grey not over power it.
Sorry for having my head up my ass while writing the original post. :anonymous:

So all please, take this into consideration with your current vote.

What are you guys thoughts? I just do not want this to become a colored tattoo. Black and Grey with one accent color is OK. A colored tattoo not.

    upload_2017-9-6_12-33-32.jpg

Example of the Orange I'm referring to. It does stay with the traditional Japanese style.

My personal opinion, i think the orange would fade too much over time.

That's my concern also. My Artist says with modern inks the colors last much better than they used to. That and with a little care (sunblock) I should get
many years of good color out of it. But still. I like the look of Black and Grey

I agree. But don't you think a single highlight color would make the Black and Grey POP? Take a look at he the original reference tattoo. That thing rocks.

It definately could make it pop

Maybe even consider a purple color. Seriously
