Did you hit the speed limiter when you did the 4th gear pull??

Holy bandwith Chris!!! You should know better...

I also had an STS kit back when I had an 03 and was on Daddy's money haha. My truck peaked at just over 5k under boost. At 7 I was about 20 below his numbers. At 14 psi my torque was right around 330, hp like 255. My turbo itself wasn't set up for that so my numbers were actually pretty inconsistent, even though I was running methanol supplement as well.

Yeah. The more I look into these STS turbos, the more Im finding that pretty good numbers have been had with them. Im not sure how, but the dynos Im seeing are showing some impressive numbers.

Yeah, I love them. If they weren't almost 6k for the second gens I would have another one in a heartbeat. And as for the lag, it was almost nonexistent really...

7:1 Disk? Is that what your buddy told you? Are you running an aftermarket fuel pump?

    Chris,
This is Nik from Soho Motorsports and I have been reading the questions that you asked about why the peak horsepower happens at 4500 rpm instead of where the stock peak horsepower should be happening. Looking at the stock dyno graph that you posted above it seems that it was a third gear pull and the peak horsepower was reached at around 4900 RPM and the maximum torque was reached at 3900. If you take a look at the dyno graph that I have posted up along with this reply, the blue being the third gear pull, you will see that the trace off of my dyno graph is very similar to the stock dyno graph. The peak horsepower for this kit was reached at around 4900 RPM and the max torque was reached at around 3900 RPM. I have also included a dyno graph with the engine speed on the x axis of the graph to show you the difference between the two gears and how it can shift the point where peak horsepower and torque are reached. The reason for this shift in the peak horsepower and torque is because of the higher gear and the closer ratio between the motor and the wheels, these factors place a higher load on the clutch and the motor, which produce a higher value in horsepower and torque. These factors along with the very small A/R ratio of the turbo which is a 0.60, also play a part in why the torque peaked so early. Having such a small A/R ratio allows for the turbo to spool up very fast at lower RPM ranges, thus creating a better low speed response and instant torque.
Finally, the peak in horsepower that occurred around 4500 RPM while in fourth gear was due to the fact that the spring in the wastegate was only set to 7 psi, thus this 7 psi was reached at around 4500 RPM, instead of 4900 RPM. The kit did not come with any electronic boost controller, which stopped us from setting it to a value where the maximum power could be produced for this kit. Let me know if you have any more questions about this system.

Below are the dyno graphs with the SAE corrected factors for the third gear and fourth gear pulls with respect to RPM. The Third gear pull produced a peak horsepower of 217.97 HP and a peak torque of 258.78 ft-lbs, while the fourth gear pull produced a peak horsepower of 232.11 HP and a peak torque of 287.06 ft-lbs. Once again the SAE corrected factors show what the motor would produce at 59 degrees Fahrenheit, zero humidity, and 29.34 inches of mercury.

that is the corrected factor graph.
