Just suggesting stay away from Scarborough toyota.

Although the staff always seems pleasant. I dropped my truck off today to have the transmission fluid checked as it's been running hot. Search around here plenty for the 3rd gen about low fluid etc. Anyways, they told me they did the check, the service manual alone says it's a time consuming test etc and has to be a certain temp etc.

Well guess they weren't smart enough to pay attention to my interior. Two dash cams, one in the front one in the back. The truck was on the lift for a total of 7minutes 32seconds, RIGHT after driving for about 30min (so trans temp was well above the 46C its supposed to be at for test)

BUT the shop foreman told me they did the test. Clearly they never did.
Sooo just a little heads up, avoid this dealer as they seem to like to bullshit their customers about stuff they performed when they never did.

I actually ended up going a bit further. I got mine from Stouffville Toyota. and recently had some service done by them for the transmission.

Honestly I tried don valley north, toyota on the park, ken shaw, downtown toyota, and scarborough. All of them gave me a hard time about giving me a test drive in a TRD Off road.
None had them in stock and all gave me the same shit 'test drive this limited/sport/sr5, then sign here and we'll get you the off road' None of the above dealers understood the Offroad is the only one with different suspension from the rest.
Found out stouffville had one in stock, went and test drove and signed.
They also gave me $4k off MSRP vs scarborough who told me expect to pay $1-2k over MSRP.

Although its a bit of a drive to go to stouffville, I can't say enough good things about them. Very impressed with their sales and service. Most dealers are pretty crappy with service especially with modified vehicles. But stouffville is great about it. And they seem to know tacomas pretty well. Unlike all the other dealers that just see camrys, corollas, and Rav4s, maybe the odd 4runner

I know this is an old thread but feel the need to share the sentiment. I can't speak for the service department but had a very interesting experience with the sales staff. My only advice is stay far far away from Scarborough Toyota...

Do you have any photos of how the rear-facing dash cam is wired? Did you have to drop the headliner to route the wire to the front dash cam?

it connects to the front one. I just tucked the wire in the plastic by the door trim kind of into the headliner. Didn't need to drop anything.

It actually isn't working right now not sure why. Just the front camera is working so I'm looking into getting a new one.

^ @Joe23 The Blackvue is quite good for the two days I've used it lol. Good image quality at night. Stable connection when connected to the camera via wifi - I can view/download recorded videos, view the live feed, and change camera settings through the Blackvue app (I have an Android phone).

The battery module is just there for rundown protection. The camera goes into parking mode as soon as it stops moving for 5 minutes. The module just turns off the camera if battery voltage drops below a certain level. $449 seems excessive when you can get the Blackvue combo for ~$360? https://www.amazon.ca/Blackvue-DR590-2CH-Recorder-Warning-Included/dp/B078SGYL1Y/

It was from blackbox my car.
Was 64gb SD, GPS, front rear and choice of hardwire kit or the battery kit so it still does parking mode for up to 12hrs continuous recording.

    Was offered cheaper without gps

Edit: nvm it was the higher up model for 449. Just checked bookmark .But no longer on sale

I got the Thinkware 800 forward mount. Very impressed with it for the last 12 months I've ran it. Very discreet (low profile) and the imagery is excellent. Day or nite. Can add a rear mount if desired. Spendy but worth it. Has all the features

I was looking at thinkvue .Dunno which model but it didn't show anything if it was recording etc so wasn't fond of it.

Mine doesn't work for rear anymore and sometimes the front doesnt record so I'm looking to get a new one

Before you go rip replace, switch out your memory card...and see if that rectifies the recording issues from front. Rear is wiring issue or hardware. Worst case is the new memory card is reusable moving forward. Can't recommend the the thinkware enuf. If you want a demo, I'm around.
