In all likelihood those posts that had electrical issues after installing leds inside the cab are probably installers error. Yes if you leave battery on and lights are powered and you accidentally short the contacts- you will have issues. Either they don’t realize what they did or don’t want to admit it but not being an electrician (me), that seems like a highly likely outcome and common sense. Some will insist on disconnecting battery to eliminate that chance and others, that are aware, will at the least make sure the switch is not on powering the lights your currently replacing. But what do I know

No problems with Diode Dynamics LEDs in the map lights, dome, and vanity mirrors.

I installed my own 2 LED panel dome light mod using the OEM lens to maintain the original look.
I strongly recommend disconnecting the negative battery cable when installing LED dome lights, or pulling the fuse. There have been cases posted on TW where people shorted it out, some just blew a fuse but others caused more serious issues than just blowing a fuse costing hundreds to repair:
    Dome lights won't turn off!
And turning the switch off will NOT remove the +12V from the dome light socket, I confirmed this with a voltmeter. The Tacoma uses negative switching so the +12V is still there.
My $12 Dome light mod (and map lights too if you want, you get 4 LED panels and connectors for either):

I'll be the outlier here... I installed the Headlight Revolution interior LED kit and encountered the following issue. When I get out and close my door, I attempt to use the door handle lock sensor and it will be unresponsive sometimes until the interior lights fully dim out. Once they turn off, door handle lock works just fine. Sucks for me living in South Florida since we have heavy rain and sometimes I have to get out and run.

I bought the Meso dome and maps and they didnt match. The dome was blue and the maps were white. I gave the dome light away and bought a new one at Autozone and been happy ever since.

I did the Meso Map and dome lights and after 2 days I look like the cheese on the bottom of my oven.

I'm really not sure what I may have done. I installed Sylvania LED Map Lights yesterday afternoon and they worked great. Went out to start the truck this morning and both low beams will not function. High beams and fog lights work. Any suggestions.

Seriously though... Meso dual brightness dome and phillips LEDs in the front for a few years with no issues. Just switched to Meso dual color maps, still no issues.

Check your fuses, maybe they blew when you installed the lights.

I do not have the same fob as the automatic models due to having a manual transmission but only issue I ran into was incorrect sizing on the festoon bulbs. The remedy was lightly sanding down the edges to make them fit.

I started off with Amazon. Then Went all DD in and out. Much better output and light tone.
The turn signal LED gave me problems so I went back to incandescent on just that one. This issue is well documented on other threads.

No one asked but that highest power DD backup light is a gamechanger. recommend.

No problems installing MESO dome and maps but have read about problems when battery is connected or lights are on during installation. Something shorts and leads to other complications.
