    I work at the service department at Ford as a tech. :anonymous: I have seen a lot of these EcoBoost trucks pass through the shop with nothing needed more than an oil change and tire rotation, they do seen like Ford did get this one right. They run smooth and are ridicuously fast, they make power that surprised the shit out of me. The technology blows anything Toyota has ever made out of the water as far as i'm concerned but i'm a Toyota guy and can give a shit less about what Ferd makes. It is just what I see every day. We will see as time goes by for these EcoBoosts, as my Taco has been trouble free for 7 years now. I am not a Ferd fan by any means and will always own a Toyota for those wondering.

    1. Consumer reports said MPG was same with ecoboost and 5.0 V8 in their tests.

    2. My 1998 4 door Tahoe 4x4 got 20-21 mpg highway w/ a 5.7, 4 spd auto (no fancy 6 speeds back then). That was 1998! It had a few bolt ons but nothing crazy or expensive.

    We've been down this road before, the same ole small displacement motor w/ power adder thing. Why should the story be any different this time. Especially with a Ford.

    I'm not a big fan of factory turbos on gas engines in general. People don't know how to use them or take care of them properly. They build a lot of heat and people don't let them cool down before shutting off the motor. Never buy one used because it's likely trashed

    I have one sitting in my driveway I detailed today. The truck feels like it has plenty of power. They cut a ton off the motor I guess to get better fuel mileage, when Parked and at idle it sounds like shit and idles rough. Other then that and it being a Ford it seems to be a nice truck.
