I have never in my life said that the Tacoma is the best truck ever made. It's a great truck though and I love mine.

I will go on record to say that the Colorado is one of the most plain and boring looking trucks ever made....everytime I see one blaahhhhhhhh

One of our resident engineers with experience in transmisson designs actually has diagnosed some of the problems with the tranny being related to some type of valve leak inside the assembly IIRC @bradwhitenikki

I commute 60 miles everyday on the highway. On stock tires I used to average 23mpg. The powertrain issues are definitely exaggerated. To be fair it did take my truck 10k to break in. Also if you were concerned with highway driving manners im suprised you bought the diesel. 0-60 in what, 10 seconds?

The diesel has 100 less horsepower, but 100 pounds more torque. It feels like it has more power, because to pass someone on the highway, I just push the pedal a small amount to speed up. No downshifting three gears to gain some speed. Yes the Tacoma destroys the diesel in a drag race, but for real world driving, the diesel actually feels more powerful than the Tacoma. That's not a knock on the Tacoma, it's just the way diesel's work compared to gas rigs. I've owned three diesel sedans, and they drive much better that their gas counterparts. IMO. My Tacoma rated for 24mpg, regularly got 18 on the highway. Worse was the constant shifting to stay at 70 MPH. I convinced myself that it wasn't bad until I drove the diesel. It was like kissing the girl you were meant to marry, for the first time. It just felt right. If I didn't have an insane commute, and drove off-road a lot, I would have gotten that feeling from the Tacoma. The Canyon sucks off-road with the stock suspension. Toyota needs to follow Dodge and GM's lead and bring their diesel to the US market, and stick it in the Tacoma and 4Runner. That would be the perfect mid sized truck.

Since the other thread the OP started got locked thought I would re-post mine...

Want a cookie? Every make has trucks that are lemon law'd...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/i-got-a-lemon.457363/

Multiple people have had it done also with the drive line shudder too. What is your point of this thread? I can bring up lemon law threads for any make...
