Hello everybody. It's Chad from Copperstate 4 Wheelers and I wanted to let you know that it’s about that time of the year to start thinking about the Fourpeaks Cleanup near Phoenix, Arizona. This year it’s our 6th annual cleanup and it’s scheduled for Saturday November 7th, 2015.

Please come and join the Copperstate 4 wheelers and the Tonto Recreation Alliance (TRAL) to clean up the Fourpeaks & Sugarloaf Mountain areas from 8-430pm. There will be 2 sessions for the cleanup. Registration starts at 730 am.

The first cleanup session is scheduled from 8 am-12 pm with lunch from 12 to 1230 pm followed by our first raffle at 1230 pm.

The 2nd cleanup session is from 1 pm to 4 pm followed by our second raffle at 415 pm. Lunch will be provided this year! Volunteers will receive a free raffle ticket for each cleanup session they attend. Must be present to win. Volunteers can come for the morning, afternoon, or both cleanup sessions. Children will also be entered into a special raffle.

Copperstate 4 Wheelers will be working closely with TRAL. Contributions to the cleanup are tax deductible. Donations can be made to The Tonto Recreational Alliance who has a 501c3 status. Those donations may be in the form of supplies like contractor trash bags, water, or possibly a raffle item. Sponsors/vendors are encouraged to come out and set up an information booth. To find the cleanup site, travel North on highway 87 to the Fourpeaks turn off, East of highway 87 between mile markers 203 and 204 on forest service road 143. The cleanup will be staged approx 1/2 mile from highway 87 in the Fourpeaks staging area.

Please bring shovels, rakes, gloves, sunscreen, small trailers to help haul trash, pop up canopies, and any other equipment that may be useful.

If you any questions, would like to donate to the cleanup or items for our raffle, or you are a vendor or sponsor and have questions, please can contact us at:

Just a bunch of old crap
It's really great that you guys do this every year now. How far up the trail do you usually do the clean-up? I assume most of the garbage is near the staging areas and within the first couple of miles, but I've always seen trash just about anywhere there is potential camping/staging.

I'd like to make it to one of these. I also agree about Sycamore. It's a mess on both ends.

the problem about sycamore, is everyone that doesnt 4 wheel out there, and just goes shooting there. they shoot fridges, stoves, all that type of shit and leave it everywhere. 99% of target shooters out there dont give a shit. it drives me insane.
theres no way to keep sycamore clean if they keep target shooting open IMO.

    i am in.
sycamore is where i grew up. it would be nice to set one up there too....

Agreed, as long as the people about there shooting dont clean up after themselves, its almost futile.
I'm all for it but sooner or later the forest service will shut it down.

I don't understand why people can't just go to one of the many ranges we have? Usery Pass is a nice range.

Now you are speaking my language. As far as ranges go I hate them, much prefer desert shooting. Although I do cleanup after except the .22 it's impossible to get all those little guys.

Brass is brass.. Clean it all!

I don't feel Usery is bad especially bsince they added the concrete a few years ago. The range wardens are cool (unlike Ben Avery)

Unless I have a magnetic rake it's impossible clean up 500 .22 shells in sand. I try my best but am not going to claim that I get every last one.

Just realized after I posted brass isn't magnetic

When I move back I'm going to try set something up with the Rangers see if I can get cooperation and have them shut down target shooting for a weekend and then get a group of people, a trailer, trucks, maybe a bobcat or something, shovels whole 9 yards and make it happen! There should be signs that say

"Keep arizona beautiful, pick up your brass and all your shit you bring out here or be shot 'target shooting'." Lol

How do you guys feel about this? If I went through all the trouble would you actually show up

Try your damnest to pick them all up.

But i think the bigger problems is caliber's larger than .22 and the JUNK and GARBAGE they leave. Glass, ceramics, electronics, appliances, cans, bottles you name it. I find a shit ton of Fanta and Coronas for some reason....

Awhile I had posted about this that should pass very large fines for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd.... offenses.
Say $5K 1st offense, $10K 2nd offense, $20K 3rd offense and so on. No appeals or nothing. A couple of these imposed fines will hopefully keep people from being completely fucktarded. Just like the morons that shoot up and down Bush Hwy signs.

WTF PEOPLE. If you are grown enough to handle a weapon, pick up after yo-self.
