Fox 2.0 vs 5100

    Front 5100s @ 2.5, 1.5 AAL, 265/75-16 all terrains
    I currently have Bilstien 5100 rears on my truck and am looking to buy Fox 2.0s from a member. Both have around 15,000 all highway miles on them. Will I notice much of a difference on road?

    I haven't ever used 5100 so I don't know but I do have 2.0 all around, rear sway bar and no sway bar in the front. Did all of that at once with TC uca so in the end it was a huge improvement over stock. The fox can be rebuilt too which is a plus over billies

    How often do they require rebuilding?
    I'm sure severity of usage would figure in, but for the typical daily driver with occasional offroad times. Thanks!

    Fox says every 10,000 or 50,000 miles depending on what all you want serviced but personally I probably wont until 75,000-100,000. I don't race ever or haul heavy things hardly and never have time to off road anymore so they have a fairly easy life lol

    It's an aftermarket one. Completely bolt on. I'll take a photo of it on and good timing because I am about to take it off to send my truck in for leaf spring recall!

    I don't think you can add reservoirs to a non-resevoir shock. You'll need to take care of the threads on the shocks or you'll be cutting them off eventually. Bilsteins ride fine on mine. For the price difference, getting new ones every few years is a cheaper alternative.

    I went from Bilstein 5100's to 2.0 with resi non cd adjuster to acomodate the dakars leaf. It just really depend on what you do and want And do. But the ride difference is noticble 5100's are softer compare to the fox. So do your reviews and get what fits your needs.
