    I'm going to do it to make sure I have the extended frame coverage. It is only time, but I'd rather not make the trip to the dealer twice just because they didn't document it fully before.

    I work at a dealership. You're over thinking this. Bring your truck in. Let them do it and don't worry about what they do. Be covered for 12 years. It's that simple.

    First time for the ZKA is a customer support program and to inspect for holes. K0D is the recall to spray inside the frame rails and you most definitely should do it.

    Hey all, While greasing the U-joints today I found a pretty large rust hole in the frame near the front cab mount. In your opinions would that qualify for the new frame or rather just a patch? The KZA recall was done by the previous owner but the K0D recall is scheduled for next week. IMG-2082.jpg

    That likely will be getting a new frame. If K0D is still open. Be sure to show them the spot.

    Our opinion(s) don't really count. Only your Toyota dealer can tell you if you qualify for a new frame. That said, the hole in your picture looks more than big enough to qualify if you meet the other criteria.

    @Too Stroked

    Well the frame had the KZA recall done 4 to 5 years back. So with the K0D open and not done I'm hoping they won't try to screw me around. Definitely will let everyone know the results.

    I know they have the follow certain criteria when following the KZA recall so with that being over 10cm what other reasons could a dealer say no ?

    If you have that hole it’s almost a sure a thing you’ve got more holes

    If i had more time I'd like to inspect more, maybe a tomorrow project. I don't foresee a issue getting the frame done and hopefully some other listed parts that Toyota will cover

    So question for everyone out there who got the frame replaced - my father got his done, 2011 Tacoma V6 access cab, and every since it’s been done, he’s getting about 3 less mpg than he did before. Is this normal?
