Hey. Leave us out of it.

Drive in the E coast surf a couple times a week and you'll have frame rot here too. And Toyota will do nothing, 'cause it's not a 'cold weather state'.

But seriously. An 11 YO 200k truck. Ask your insurance agent what a payout for a total will be. Or your bank what they'll lend on that jewel.

I don't care what street prices are. Those numbers will reflect a value that doesn't include the stupid 'Toyota tax'.

I'm sorry for your misfortune. And sure, call around, you might get a sympathetic ear. But don't look to shift the blame elsewhere when a remedy was offered and not accepted.

Devotion to what? Not being apathetic when the notice about frame rot comes in and I live in an affected area? Not saying the vehicle is "worthless" without it no kidding being appraised for it? Or what? While I acknowledge that there may be an issue with the frames, the manufacturer has provided a potential remedy. It is not a perfect fit for everyone, but it is better than nothing.

Wow, I woke up this morning to see that I started a shit storm.

Toyota owes me nothing. Im on my second Taco. Been driving them around 17 or 18 years. They are great trucks and I believe they stand by their product. Im aware that I missed the deadline because ...well....I missed it. Thats all there is to it. Im simply asking the question on the dedicated forum. Does anyone know of, or heard of them accepting a frame swap job after the deadline..? Its my own fault , I realize that.

Here in NH every car or truck has scaling on the frame. Did I see that on mine? Yes I did. But its perforation that we are looking for. I change my own oil on the ground without a lift. Everytime I did I would glance around for rot. It didnt present itself until recently. Thats when I made the phone call and found out there was a deadline.

I always keep on eye on my frame. At least once a month Ill crawl under and give it an inspection. Even though mine is only 4 years old, 99% perfect frame and fully coated in rubber sealant, I still keep an eye out for potential problem areas. Any sealant comes off, I hit it again. A vehicle frame is the single most important part of a vehicle.

I think you may be out of luck. Trade it in or sell it. If the rust is bad, I wouldnt sell to an individual. Wouldnt be right.

Probably a couple of years, considering the below quote assuming oil changes every 6 months and "a few" is at least 3 or more:
