12 yrs from in service date.
If 12 yrs is up you get 1 yr from settlement date.

1st gens got the 15 yr
Canada has 15 yr on the second gens.

Also the crc is a band aid to get you past warranty time.
It’s better than doing nothing but it’s still crap.

What's the settlement date? My 12 years are almost up (2007 truck) and frame was coated in 2016.
Looks like OP lucked out because his 2006 likely has an "in service" date from 2005 so we are well over 12 years from that.
I've been nice to my frame but for a good deal of flaking metal inside of it where you can't wire wheel and repaint...

I've got too much money sunk into this truck to have it rot out under me

I thought it ended in '11. It seems like all the recalls and TSB's are for 05-11. My springs were the same way.

Planned to get the some wire wheeling and such done this summer and start fluid filming twice a year. Once right before hunting season to get rid of the Dakar squeak.

Had mine inspected the other day and they didn't spray it either. I'm wondering if I need to get in touch with someone higher up the food chain.

I thought the inspection was either you pass AND get coated or you fail AND get a new frame. Makes no sense to me why the dealer would take the time to inspect and not do anything since it'll most likely rust through eventually. As for being safe to drive, my frame failed for a hole MUCH smaller than OP's and in a much less critical place and the dealer said they were keeping it and gave me a rental. Seems like there should be some sort of universal system instead of leaving it to the dealer's discretion.

The settlement was finalized I think July 2017. That meant the 2005s got one year ending very soon, the 2006 is elapsing now, etc. My truck was first put into service in 2007 (Oct 2007 AFAIK) so it'll have until late 2019 I believe. I had mine inspected a couple of years ago, pass and did not get CRC.

My paperwork also says there's reimbursement.

Wonder if you could pay out of pocket to have it replaced and send Toyota the bill after. That's what I did with the leaf spring recall. Got free Dakars out of that

to the OP, my frame had rusted in the same location but had not gotten that bad yet but did meet the min. required hole size. This was back in December 2014. My point it the dealer was insistent, it was not safe to drive, the held on to my truck for six months until the new frame came in and installed.
It's not safe to drive, insist on a loaner that they pay for. It will all get reimbursed by Toyota corp to them anyway.

    Good luck

What if you actually need a truck and don't wanna be in a shitty RAV4 for 6 months? I've never got a loaner truck from Toyota...

Pretty sure you can demand a truck. I've seen people here say that and get one. If you require a truck, I'm sure if you kicked and screamed they'd give you one. I'd be like "fine, I'll be strapping my 2x4s to the roof of this RAV4. Hope you have insurance on it."

I questioned as well if the truck is safe to drive too. I suspect other sections are bad but I didn’t inspection them once I pushed my thumb through the first spot.

The dealer did not offer a rental. Said it was safe to drive.

Should a rental offer been automatic?

Does Toyota Corp have to approve it?

I will need to look if the wep letter mentions a loaner.

I'm willing to bet if you kick and scream enough, citing the fact you pushed your thumb through part of your frame, that they'll give you a loaner. If you really want one you can kick it up to corporate and ask them who'd be responsible if a part of this frame folds up under you on the road after THEIR service manager said it was OK to drive. Demand a letter stating they certify it's safe to drive. That would probably put the liability on them. Companies do not like liability.

Lol, pretty sure this is why they always take your credit card on file when you get a loaner so as funny as that sounds... don't see it working out too well

    It is '05--'11 only...

Also it is not a "recall"--it's a warranty enhancement program...

On the settlement web page and I saw an open appeal to the ‘final’ settlement. Filed in June 2017 one month after the court issued final order.

Does anyone know what that is about?

There were two appeals filed, and the court seems to have never taken action on either--perhaps because Toyota nonetheless moved ahead with the frame replacement program despite the appeals, and appears to have addressed the concerns of each in their program...

    Unsure of any appeal.
