No option for replacement by Toyota?

Nope, they are telling us that the warranty that is still in affect because of the class action law suite is void because several owners back, (can't tell us who or when) did not have the underneath sprayed. So we are screwed.... I see several videos on here where people were able to repair the frame rather than replace..

This company makes weld in replacement pieces. https://www.autorust.com/ Then you need someone to cut out the bad, and weld in the new.

Sorry for your bad luck from the PO. Toyota isn't really unwilling to replace, if within the timeframe, and the prior treatment was made. But definite no-go without the treatment.

Should probably try asking in the regional treads. Probably find someone more local

What he means is go to the top of the page where you see "Home ... Forums...Watched......" and click "Forums". About halfway accoss, you'll see "Reginal Discussion". Find your region and ask this same question. Someone close to you may be able to help.

I'm having to do frame repair as well. I'm going to get the frame reinforcement pieces from above mentioned website, and then do a local yelp search for welder/fabricator. I found this one guy that has great reviews, just gotta see if it's something he can do and for how much $$.
Other forum might be able to help ya!

I do but I wouldn't know anyone to help swap, plus the $$ factor.

Finding someone that will do this type of work can be hard and expensive.

Most places need to remove the fuel tank for insurance reasons which adds new parts that break and need replaced .

Then you never know what your going to find till you get started .

People I know just quoted @ $2500.00 to do frame repair

I’m from Clarksville, TN, not too far from you. We have a frame shop here in town that has a good reputation. I haven’t had any work done from them just yet but they have photos on their website of them reinforcing frames and stuff and the site states that they specialize in framework and suspension. The name of the company is Tennessee Frame on kraft st in Clarksville. Best of luck.

I took the bed off mine here recently. There are 6 bolts connecting the bed to the frame. 4 of them are 17mm and 2 are 19mm. You should need a deep well socket for the 19mm ones. Start by removing the tail lights and feed the wiring down past the bed. Do this for both then get under the bed. Cut the electrical tape that holds up the wiring until all of it dangles down to the ground. No need to remove any not connected to the bed. Remove the gas cap and fuel neck. Mount an electric hoist above the bed in your garage (I used one from harbor freight) Now you can remove the 6 bolts. This is the hardest part as mine were very rusty. Use penetrant oil as needed wd40 pb blaster etc. once removed set aside and now you need to attach ratchet straps to the rings in the bed tighten those bad bois up and hook to the hoist hook. Leave your mud flaps and wheel well plastic on. This is a two man job now. You need to have someone pull back the wheel well plastic in order to make sure it doesn’t clip the gas nozzle. They will guide the bed around as someone operates the hoist. Once the bed is raised put the gas cap back on and drive it out from under. Park truck. Get 4 old buckets and some wood planks. Place these in a square. Lower each corner of the bed unto the buckets. It’s now time to get to work. Remove any loose debris with a wire brush. Now you can drive the chassis cab to the weld man. Costed about 200 for the frame reinforcements. Better than 3000+. Drive the chassis cab back after picking it up and begin rust treatment. I used rustoleum rust neutralizer gray bottle looks like clear jelly when sprayed. Make sure it’s spread in. Use toothbrushes in smaller places and a medium size paintbrush otherwise. This needs to dry overnight. Now spray rustoleum rust preventative. Spray paint can black, works just like regular spray paint. I recommend this is done outside rather than the garage. This dries quickly do 2 coats. 2 cans of this was enough for me. Now you can put the bed back on and fasten it. Then to the fuel neck and lastly the tail lights and wiring. Use electrical tape to tie the wires back on to the same plastic mounts. Test to see if the tail lights and tag lights work. That’s it!:amen:
