That's encouraging, since I am in NY and salt is an issue here as well.

Here is what I bought on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0070WTGZG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has a 360 degree spray nozzle on the end of about a 3 foot flexible hose. It does a good job getting into the inside of the frame, IMO.

So, the Kellsport thing looks reasonable. What are the thoughts around applying in as soon as the weather warms up or waiting until Fall when in begins to cool down? I mean as far as being effective at rust control. Will applying it now, as to slow further rusting, vs. maybe having to reapply in the fall?

That’s actually for cleaning sewer lines which you “back pull” so that is why the nozzles are facing backward, I actually ordered that same kit I’m gonna use also. But it should work just fine back pulling a frame to bust loose any debris because it’s the same theory as sewer line cleaning, just cleaning junk from a pipe essentially.

For me unfortunately it is to cold - NAS needs to be applied at temperature 25C (77F) or more. That limits the timing. I'm still waiting for the temperature to get there (it's still below 70 here).

I do it in three steps - all requires warm sunny weather:
    1. Clean the frame and everything under with pressure washer - hot water and soap. There are self-service coin operated car wash here where you put coins into machine and use pressure washer with hot water and soap (it is illegal here to wash your car outside of car wash places).
    2. Get home and clean the frame from the inside. I pretend that this is legal o_O
    3. Wait at least one day to have everything died out and then fluid film the living crap out of the frame inside and outside plus anything I can see may have trace of rust on it (like suspension parts, third member, skid plates, bumpers etc.)
    4. Wait another day for the FF to settle down before driving. First drive at highway speed is always fun - there is a cloud of over-sprayed fluid film behind me for the first few minutes.

I don't do any water crossing, mud-dipping or undercarriage washing so the FF treatment last for a full year. I love that stuff.

Which one stops existing rust the best? That's my issue... can scrape some but not in the hard to reach or inner places.

I've no experience, yet, but both Fluid Film and WoolWax claim to penetrate rust down to base metal, once "scale" is removed, and stop further rust.

For myself I am trying to decide between FF and WW, leaning to WW as it claims to not stink, as much, and be thicker.

Get 3 or 4 cans of Fluid film at lowes. Works well and stays in place for awhile.

Can't get up inside the frame rails with those.

I'm in Wyoming and although I skipped last year will be FFing my Tacoma a gain this year. The FF is worn off anywhere that spray from the tires hits it but that isn't where the rust starts. It starts in all the places you can't see. Even after skipping the application last summer I still have FF oozing out of the holes in the frame. It "creeps" quite well. I didn't FF last summer because I didn't need to. I will at the end of this summer once again. It's good stuff. They do make a "wand" for the inside of the frame rails that you can use on the spray cans. I have one of them.

does anybody have their frame powder coated
would that eliminate the need to apply this ff,etc. year after year...

    ....
"Powder coating is resistant to cracking, peeling, chipping, abrasion, rust and damage due to chemical exposure. While it isn't indestructible, it is highly durable, retains colour and gloss, goes on uniformly, has excellent UV stability and is a far more environmentally friendly option than traditional liquid paint."

How Long Does Powder Coating Last? Powder coating can maintain its finish up to15-20 years, depending on pre-treatment and the type of powder. Its resistance to weather, corrosion, and chemicals makes powder coating a more durable finish than paint or other liquid coatings.

Powder coating over rust is a bad thing. The rust will eventually bleed through thecoating when your part is exposed to moisture. Eventually the coating willdelaminate and fall-off your part. ... If your coater is not willing or able to correct this problem, go elsewhere for your coating services.

Powder coating a frame! Seriously? You'd have to dis-assemble the entire vehicle for that and there are probably much better alternatives than powder coating if you want to go that far. May as well send it to Glock at that point for a "Tennifer" finish.

If you are going to go that route, I would Line-X the whole frame. I called Line-X, and they said they could do it, but the frame would have to be off the truck for them to do it.

yes, my local line-X shop told me that too, but had to bring in a separate frame by itself and not sure how they would line-X the inside of it

for a frame swap, is this the best route i meant

Don't think the powder coating process is going to prevent the killer rust. It comes from the inside of the frame out. No way to powder coat the inside, that I see.

i will ask the local place that does this, they say their ovens can fit a frame on their website but that might mean motorcycle frames, i need to get some wheels done there
