I got a CB with a five foot antennae now. Tuned and ready to go, should get a pretty good signal even through trees but we will see. So 9/14-16 is a go then! I will let the boss know so i will be there! So now we get to the topic of campsites for a night or motels or whatever we can find that will house us.

Tentative pending my work travel - I went from having the VOR / Fall Crawl and a few other events to having to bail on 80% of them for work travel... but I might.. just might be home for this weekend.

Ok so I'm in pending I can bring my chocolate lab. He's got a mean bark but no bite all he wants to do is lick you and play ball.
Fluid film meet is either the weekend before or after so it works out perfectly.

I'm 50/50 on that weekend; GF & I were thinking about doing the Brewfest at Sunday River. I need to figure out how to convince her that this would be better :help:

@Skierrichy makes no difference if you bring your dog.

Sunday River brewfest sounds awesome too!
I'm trying to get my wife to go...but if it's raining she probably won't.
I tell her that's what rain gear is for, lol!

Yup, Im down for camping if we can find an acceptable place. Just saw a picture this morning on the NE Overland fb page of some guys that camped near the caves this weekend. That might be better suited for Sat night. Kinda all depends on our wheeling schedule

So theres a few of us that have a 4+ hour drive to get to that general area, so I believe we are going to roll in Fri evening sometime. @m603holden offered to show us around a bit between Hartford and Rutland via Rt 4. Not sure if he was talking about Fri evening or not, but thats when Ill be coming in.

Find some place to stay Fri night. Im down with camping if someone has a decent spot in mind. Otherwise probably try to find a hotel / sleep in the truck.. I dont really want to be bushwacking around Fri night looking for a place to setup camp after a 4-5 hr drive haha

Then head to the quarry Sat morning and find some good trails to wheel up to the caves. Probably will have time to run multiple trails as they dont seem very long. Other than that, just generally exploring the area and finding someplace to camp Sat night.

Also, if people dont have any preference on comms / ch # I'm just going to pick a ch# and update the OP.. Figure CB is a good standard that we'll all be in small group within range, but I also have GMRS.

It seems like a bunch in the area after a quick google map search. Hard to say which are true campgrounds vs some spots in the woods. At least some options not far away though

Damn thats a perfect location. 15 minute drive to Dorset Hill Rd from there. Looks like their minimum stay is 2 nights tho. So if we're fine staying there 2 nights in a row then this might just be the ticket!

Took a screen shot of the Fees.. looks like out of staters would be paying $20 /night for a large tent site. Seems like 4 people per site is allowed without extra charges. And Im sure these sites will be large enough to split several ways if we all just have ground or roof top tents.

I'm assuming we're going to want to be in the same area...let me know which sites we are going to want and I'l reserve 1. If you need me to make a call tomorrow I can just let me know.

Emerald lake is a drunken northern walk away from the trail head to the quarry. Could kind of see it when I went for a nature stroll.
