I love it when people asked me if I got stuck out at "xyz". Its like really? Between duratracs, 4wd, a rear locker , A-trac and airing down, if I got stuck it's because I made some damn poor choices. Haha

 

If I'm on stuff like that I'm airing down for sure, I don't need my teeth chattering!

 

No doubt! I usually drop to 20-25 psi range for stuff like this, mostly just for the ride comfort on the E range KO2s.

 

So Ill update the OP to say general recovery gear and a spare, just to be safe haha

Also good to hear a few of you guys got real on board air. I just have a portable ViAir pump that works great for one truck, but if we have to do several that will take a while.

Not sure. Probably could decide that at camp Fri night / Sat morning. Looks like we're sitting at about 10 vehicles right now counting a few of the NE Overland guys

I can't confirm yet, but Ill talk to the wife and family. It may be better if the wife doesn't come, so I wont have to hear, "Your going to scratch it". Which is my fault as I have been very protective of the truck.

We were up at Mooshead a few weeks ago, flying around the dirt roads, possible even getting the rear tires off the ground on one of the bumps. She had no issue, the moment I turned down a tight trail, "Oh this is not good, the trees, yada yada yada", well actually I heard bitch bitch bitch. Needless to say we backed out and continued to fly around the roads.

 

if they are from my doing, then I can live with it. Its what the other folks do to my truck that gets me wound up.

I made it about 2 years so far, my last truck I might have made it 2 weeks.

 

I should have on board air by this trip... if I get time to mount it up.

Edit - I also have a portable ViAir 400p that can handle up to 35's no problem.

 

Yeah, I have E range tires too so that extra squish really does help.

It's never bad to have another extra too; I've had no issue doing 1 truck trying to fill 4 on a second may get close to the thermal cutoff. Plus all the fittings get super-heated by the end. I should see if there's any good heat resistant tape to help not burn my hands.

Haha sounds exactly like my GF, she doesn't understand how I can willingly drive through what I have so far. 100% agree about if someone else did it vs yourself. I think I lucked out cause I haven't noticed any too bad on my truck but I think the orange hides it well cause I've heard the squealing of branches on my truck too many times already.


Also on a positive was able to convince the GF Maybe I'll put together a little brewfest tasting for the group; any interest? Possibly small buy-in to cover beer costs, do samples of each then everyone can pick through the remaining cans. Not sure if anyone is a craft beer drinker or just a booze drinker (I fall into both categories)

 

Hell yeah man! Totally down to contribute a few packs of local Maine brews.

 

I have a week vacation in Acadia the week of Labor day so I was going to probably grab a few while traveling around...Bissell Brothers, Mason's, Maine Beer Co., etc. Is it 5 o'clock yet?
