We were about an hour out of town when my friends parents called him and told him about it... (left at his house) they offered to pay to fix it. I'm gunna get a repair quote first to see if insurance needs to be involved or not. Other than my bumper and his tailgate the only thing hurt is my pride I guess. Just needed to share this devastation with everybody on tw.

Because this is the first incident the truck has had in 11 years! (since it rolled off the lot) Lol

I did suggest that idea but I don't think MY parents liked it. :notsure:

why?? Its a replacement option that is superior to OEM quality..

Go kick your friends dad in the dick for backing into your truck, take his money, then go buy a tube or plate bumper...

holy cow i would HOPE his friend's parents have the dignity to pay for damage they caused to their kid's friend's truck.

It would be great if you could do that! But if his parents were smart they would tell you to take it to a shop, have them fix it and have them send them the bill.

Dude, it's a truck. It's made to work hard and get beat up. Tacos are designed to be rode hard and put away wet. Consider it a testament to just how awesome it is. It's just a bumper anyway. She-it I love the fact that my truck is dirty, dented, and the paint is getting worn. It's a truck dammit!

Although I'm not against the plate bumper idea, that would definitely be legit.

That's pretty narrow minded and i'm sure 99% of the people here will wholeheartedly disagree with you. While its a 4x4 off road truck I still want it to look somewhat decent looking and not like its a shitty beater piece of junk. I have pride in my Tacoma and don't want it to look like crap. I don't have a problem with me putting on some trail damage from moab if I do it, but having some guy back into your bumper does not give the truck character. I don't think having a huge dent in the bumper and bedside of the truck shows how awesome or reliable the truck is either. I doubt Toyota created the truck's off road prowess with rear end collisions in mind. When i see a truck that is "dirty, dented, and the paint is getting worn" all i think is wow, that guy doesn't give a rats ass about their vehicle and just drives it to drive it until it falls apart due to lack of maintenance. When i see beat up looking cars and trucks in a parking lot i make sure to stay away from them because if the the person doesn't even care about their own vehicle they will probable slam their door into mine because they certainly don't care about the vehicle next to them.

Yeah I see your point. I do want to rectify those things in my truck. But since I'm constantly tight on cash, I'm happy with it as long as the engines working, which I'll go to great lengths to keep optimal. Especially considering it has 256k miles on the original engine, if that's not a testament to the care I put in it. lol Besides my truck looks no dirtier or worse for wear than it does in my sig. The guy I bought it from did a crappy paint job but even from up close it's hard to tell to the untrained eye. Don't mistake looks for not caring though. Just like all the hispanics down here in Florida with their shitty looking Civics, they go fast and make some loud ass noises!:p But for real I'd never let mine get remotely close to that bad.
