Your truck looks great. Maybe one day for the rack! Truck looks great. I was looking at a topper near Henderson, NC but not sure it was real and my wife said looked like I’d get kidnapped there :rofl:

Google maps didn’t have street view for the house.

Kidnapping? Tell your wife that you are not a kid that seller don't want the adult, they want kids.. ha! KIDnapping.

Joking aside, my brother's property looks like that but he goes there for camping, hunting, etc.. but not in NC though.

google maps update every few years for up to date. Bird view may or may not update for awhile since helicopter (or plane) flight is expensive.

    For example:

You see school in bird view where the red arrow on the map. No school in street view which got demolished while back (Stranger Things; Hawkins High School):

    https://www.google.com/maps/place/H...try=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDgxNy4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw==

Not sure if they plan to rebuild the school on that spot or not.

Do either of y'all @hyrule_trd @TAZMINATOR have a dual battery setup?

I've been obsessing over the idea of building out a mobile command center (home office out of the truck), and traveling around the country. Work remote, and I'm getting stir crazy sitting in my home office all day. Maddening.

In order for that to work, I'd need some reliable power, Starlink and hotspot for network redundancy, comfortable office setup with dual monitors since I work in software and often dabble in development when I'm not inundated with constant MS Teams meetings.

I had considered it in the past but no, I don’t have dual batteries. Good luck though, I think it’s a great addition when needed.

That's on my list but I haven't bought battery and related things yet. I go with solar route, though. I was thinking of putting one in backseat but I wasn't sure about that.

I also plan to make a small desk or table for my laptop in front seat or backseat. I want to put two batteries under the hood but my truck can't because it has ABS wires in that place. Dual batteries work in Pro and off road models for under the hood route. (Can't remember SR5 has ABS wires under the hood or not. You can see them on the passenger side near the windshield; behind the air filter system.) It should be either 4 or 5 wires (or metal pipes). If you don't see those on that spot, then you can put battery in there. @Road_Warrior could be able to confirm this since he has SR5.

I thought about engine bay mounts, and didn't realize the trim-dependencies, then I came across @trezpass setup in this dual battery beast of a thread and really liked how clean it looks, and the simplicity of having everything in one place. Really clean build. Regarding solar, it's amazing to me how cheap the tech is getting. This cascadia hood mounted panel looks awesome, but it's considerably more expensive per watt compared to some of the rigid and flexible options from Renogy.

I was considering an offroad trailer to have a permanent office setup with dual full-sized monitors, but hauling a trailer could ruin the fun factor for me (plus, reversing 5 miles up a dead-end trail would suck).

So I considered building out a desk setup in the truck bed... and then I sat in my truck bed. I'm 6' 200lbs. Not huge - average. (Average is ok). But felt cramped, especially geared up on a trip.

So, I think my best option is just going with a good 270 awning with walls/ annex, and using portable monitors. Would enable me to work at a comfortable angle in a nice camping chair.

Probably would need to invest in both Starlink and a 5g hotspot and extender. Thoughts there?

Holy crap! trezpass's setup is awesome! I know the feeling about feeling cramped in the shell.

Starlink is nice but I have not tried that.. It is expensive for me though.

I don't need internet for the TV though since I have broadcast antenna (local channels).

What's your trim of your truck?

Honestly, I would have expected starlink to be a lot more expensive than it is - $175 hardware, and $50/ month for the standard version, which I'd get over the mini ($500 hardware). Not sure why the poorer performing version is so much more expensive.

Mines a Limited - brown leather sold me, but no factory e-locker, which is fine, I'll add air locker eventually

I looked Starlink and It says 165 per month for unlimited which I want, but it's too much. I don't want 50gb plan since I use video conference a lot.

Oh yeah I remember you said about leather on limited tacoma. I couldn't remember moments ago. I just look up images online and see if you have those pipes in that area. Those pics have front view of engine bay... hard to tell.

Ah, yeah, you're right. 50gb definitely isn't enough.

Not sure re engine bay pipes, but I figure I'd save the trouble regardless. Also, I'd like to mount an arb dual compressor eventually, which takes up some space in one of the spots the battery could in the bay (back passenger side)

If you take top view picture of engine bay, then I'll tell you that you can or not put the battery in there. Up to you.

@TAZMINATOR excuse the mess. It’s filthy. Never washed out the engine bay. My new pressure washer arrived this afternoon, so I may wash it out tomorrow.

I don't mind the mess.. It doesn't bother me.

I see you have metal pipes in the corner on the passenger side. So you can't put battery or air compressor in that spot...

You can put air compressor under the seat like Chloe did in her truck which mentioned in her video here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyN8cezu00o

Or you can put it in the storage box in the bed.
