Without knowing for sure what it is, I can't say one way or the other if its safe to drive.

Jack the wheel up and see if you can feel roughness and/or if there's play in the bearing.

Reviving an older post for a few questions I'm hoping someone can help reassure me with (this is for a 2nd gen, but should be functionally similar). What started with a simple suspension upgrade last year has slowly turned into rebuilding the entire front end of my truck. I have all the parts needed to replace the steering rack and linkage and I need to replace my CVs as another "while I'm in there" project. Swapping out the CVs also means changing out the oil seals. I have also bought all of the parts needed to do the ADD delete mod without also buying the FJ transfer case. I'm planning on doing the FJ case swap when it's a bit warmer out, for now I was just going to bag up and zip tie the ADD out of the way.

So now I'm figuring I may as well install new oil seals and do the ADD delete mod at the same time. If I'm going to do that, why not install my new ADD delete at the same time. And if I'm going to install my ADD delete, why not do it on a new clam?

I installed a ARB compressor to for the tires and installed the electronics for a future locker install mod as well.

This all has me now considering just swapping the entire clamshell with a complete unit from ECGS. My questions are:
    1. If I order the ECGS front clam with ARB locker, can I just do the ADD delete mod to that clamshell, remove the current one, and install the ADD Delete + ECGS locker clam?
    2. Following the removal and install procedures are pretty much the same for the above minus all of the locker install steps in the first post? If so, this seems pretty straight forward or am I overestimating my competence?
    Appreciate any feedback!

    Yep
they send you a fresh clam with whatever guts you want and you send them your tubeless clam back for the core.

It's as I feared then. What started as new suspension is about to turn into full regearing+lockers.
