Front bumper paint chip need advice

I would like some advice on my front bumper. There is a chip that seems to be growing, I know its a plastic bumper so I don't have to worry about rust. But it is becoming unsightly, any advice on slowing/covering/stopping the chip.





I have a can of color match paint that I am going to use on my satoshi, could I sand and paint part of the bumper or would that just end up looking like poo. Any help is appreciated.
