Ah, noted. I just drilled into the grill below my emblem, then spray painted the metal black since you could see it contrast (SR5 grill.)

    Ok, some progress:
    1) It fits! I was able to carefully file the sides to make it sit flush in the grill, no modification to my car necessary for fitment, I do think that i'll probably need to use some glue to hold it in but its VERY snug as is.
    2) Checked Video output, its not as wide as they say it is, image output wasn't distorted and will probably be great for front view.

Now all i need to do is find out how which wires i need to connect to, in order to allow the camera to feed into the rear view screen.

and find a proper button to supply 12V to the cam.

Could check out CH4x4 Industries for an OEM looking switch if you have an empty spot somewhere.

Mine had 2 connectors in the top left corner of the fuse panel. one was a 14 pin, the other a 4 pin, the 4 pin is for the camera. I assume your 4 pin was disconnected, & the end from the camera was plugged to a new harness going to the radio, leaving the end, going up to the mirror, just hanging there, not connected to anything. I don't know if camera end or mirror end was the female.

Just throwing this out there but you may leave some room for camera adjustments because if you are mainly using the front camera to assist in parking,IMO having the front camera not showing the edge of the front bumper is useless.

Valid point, I'm just hoping this helps me judge parking distances so I don't hit my garage door or wall.

I remember seeing this same camera a while ago some one definitely has this set up somehow. I will be doing this mod in the future. The front camera will be perfect in the mountains. When cresting hill off-road it’s hsrd to see what’s directly in front of the vehicle. Good luck, looking good.

I was able to mount the cam and run half the wiring, now i need to:
(1)attach the video wire, solder the positive (12v+) to the cam
    (2) then pull those two wire (cam 12v+ & video) into the cabin
    (3)wire up a button
    (4) most importantly: Find those darn Video signal input wires

ok, i've made some progress with installing a push button but i'm still at a point where i dont' know what wires to tap and what to do to engage video switch over. can someone please help?

I need help identifying the wires in question and then an instruction on how to trigger the mirror to show the video feed.

ok, made some progress: I decided I wanted to take an OE Style approach to making a harness for my camera instead of cutting and splicing. I did a ton of research and found that the connector housing part number and a source for the terminals, wires and crimper. here are part numbers:

    4 pin Housing: 90980-11950
single wire with terminal: 82998-12690 (this was crazy expensive: $16 for one)

so I sourced each component from Japan, and decided to build the harness myself with Yazaki F040 terminals.

Next step is to connect, and see how which wires are which and see how to trigger the switch over when I need it.

Whoa....where's the rest of this post?! :(

Any updates? Did you figure this out? Forward camera in the mirror for off-roading would be amazing.

Is there a way to save the footage? A car cam is useless if it can’t be saved.
