I own a 2018 Sport but hated the grill so I replaced it with a SR5 grill. Now I want to install a front facing camera but I can't figure out where to mount it. I can't install it into the emblem because the sensor is there. I know there is a good place on my original grill I removed and on the pro grill but I don't want to change the grill again (I like the black SR5 look). Has anyone installed a front camera in the SR5 grill that is not in the emblem and is centered? If so, could you let me know what camera you used and where/how you mounted it?

Here's how I did mine. It's not exactly on center, but close enough to not matter.

My 2017 Limited has a grille that is similar to this.
    Which camera is that?
And can you provide a picture of what it sees?

I found a camera on Amazon that fits in the open space below the Emblem and centered on the grille. My OCD just would not let me mount it off center so I engineered a support plate and a back place to mount the camera on. I finished the anytime camera mod today and it turned out great.

Hope you have more luck than I did with my camera. Bought a cheap one off Amazon and ended up taking it off. Only worked half the time. It may have been the harness as well. Sometimes I would lose sound in my radio. Removed and all works well again.

This is a 2020 Limited grill. Notice where the camera is mounted.

I have a 2020 SR grill that I have painted to color match my truck. My camera will then be mounted under the Toyota emblem, similar to the Limited above. Waiting for decent weather to complete.

Were you able to patch the off-center hole in your existing grille to change the mounting location, or did you get another grille?

My original grill is a 2019 SR5, and the new grill is a 2020 SR. Big difference in appearance.
I don't know yet what I'll do wjith the original grill. If I decide to patch it it'll be simple enough. It's only plastic.

I forgot to post a picture of the finished product.

Edit: I mistakenly called my new grill an SR5. It is actually a SR grill. The difference is that the SR has a black bezel, and the SR5 has a chrome bezel.

It's covered in pollen, but whadaya do?

The camera is mounted below the Toyota logo.

Sorry to revive old thread. I just ordered this camera to do the same thing you did. Did you use the red "switch" wire that's joined with the RCA? Or, did you just use the black ground and red wire to an ACC power source? Did you power it through the fuse panel?
