Front center a/c vent panel removal

How do you get it off?

 

Did you ever find out??? Im trying to do the same thing...i was installing a new stereo and when i was taking the old one out i dropped 1 of the four bolts holding the stereo bracket in place...i cant find it or see it so my next step would be to remove the AC vent assy i see a few of the snaps but i dont know how to get the others out - or if they are attached at some point...i dont want to break anything....

 

I found out how to do it somewhere but I forgot where. You have to disassemble the gauge cluster or something in order to get to a tab that is behind that other piece by the steering column. A fellow TW member did it for me when we swapped int. parts. I am pretty sure there is someone that knows how to fully do it. Sorry if I wasn't much help

 

never mind i found the screw and went to harbor freight and bought a magnetic grabber thing and i got the bolt out. I have my stereo installed and boy oh boy does it sound amazing with the FACTORY speakers! I still have to take it back out to install the thing for the stering wheel controls, but im done for the night is tarted around noon and its 10pm so hrs of screwing around and figuring out wires...man it feels good once you got it all together!
