Has anyone modified theyre front crossmember?

It seems to be a huge limit of approach angle. The cross member hangs kind of low on brackets on either side. I was thinking about cutting it off and either cutting off the brackets and welding the cross member back to the frame (3" or so higher) or cutting the brackets and weld a piece of 2" square 3/16" wall as a new stronger crossmember that is 4" higher.

    what are other opinions?

only downside would be needing fully custom skid plates...

I've thought about it but kinda decided to leave mine alone for now because I use my truck to design products. Down the road I might have to do it though. :)
