I don't know which you got, but Chris4x4 confirmed the "LSD" mobil-1 I showed in the picture is fine.

Those pumps can be found at many auto parts stores and your local Harbor Freight. HOWEVER, I have used them and a few other versions and hate them all because of the mess they make. They would work a lot better if you had an extra hand or two.

What I've found that works very well is a boxing style bottle: http://store.titleboxing.com/wbp.html

I got mine at Big 5 Sports for $2.99. I'd bet they're available at many other sporting goods stores as well. The hose makes it easy to fill your tranny, diff or whatever with no mess.

Dump your favorite fluid into the bottle, screw the lid on tight and squeeze. The pressure forces the fluid out the hose and into the intended receptacle. I have used them for a couple of years and really prefer it to all the other methods I've tried. There's no mess!

HOWEVER - do not store your fluids in these bottles. They were not designed for anything other than human consumables. I left some automatic transmission fluid in one for a few months and it started to "sweat" out. The sports bottle is still fine, I just emptied the tranny fluid into the original bottle to prevent a mess in my garage.

Did this over the weekend. Thanks for the write up! I think a Breaker Bar is a requirement for this or the Rear Diff. As I was transferring the old Front Diff oil from from a coffee can to a larger container, I found the copper Drain Washer in the bottom of the can!!!! It must have stuck to the Diff instead of the Hex bolt. I had to quickly open the drain back up, slap the washer back on, refill, and clean up the mess.

I agree, excellent write up. I just followed this thread (and Chris4x4's) to change my fluids out. Pretty straight forward, just needed to know the final torque values. Thanks!

Do most of you guys just buy the washers at dealers or online? I found a place with good prices, but for some ungodly reason they want 11 dollars for shipping!

I was considering reusing the same washers since this is the first time the trans case and front diff will be drained. But also thinking it's a better idea to just buy new ones.

That's the online gimmick - show a good price and then charge a ridiculous price for shipping and handling - total for everything is more then you pay locally.

Just reuse your crush washers. I've reused mine on the diffs at least 5 times. And 12 on my oil pan.

Seriously twelve times?? Lol your getting some serious mileage on that drain plug washer. I'd really only use mines no more than two times.
