What is the exact year and model for your Tacoma. Toyota Motor Corp, actually hosts all the original manuals online for free and you can easily find the specifications that way. I'd always put in what it states in your original owners manual.

I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma v6 Manuel TRD Off Road Access Cab. I know I should run a 75W-90 oil but as far as brand everyone seems to have there own preference

I just grab a name brand product like Mobil 1 etc. You can't go wrong in my mind. As long as you grab a brand name product, you're all good

Lucas 80w-90 (dinosaur) gear oil is what I am using. It’s cheap and high quality.

Its prob a matter of personal choice. I actually went with the least expensive brand because it has to meets whats called "API GL-5" specification. A company wouldn't be able to stay in business for long if they didnt meet this basic requirement.

If you want to baby your truck go with the name brand stuff but you are paying for the name. Maybe go with a middle of the road brand and meet it half way.

Aside from brand preference any bad experiences with the below for transmission and transfer fluids, and gasket for differentials?2CFBA468-C6E1-4428-AAAD-2F516532401D.jpg

Lots of great info here. Quick question- do you fill the transfer case until it trickles out the fill hole as you do with the front and rear diff? Thanks in advance. Tacoma World rocks!!!!:canada:

Pro-tip - you want the truck as level as possible so unless you're lucky enough to have access to a hoist, use a bubble level (or if you don't have a bubble level dl an app) to check your frame, then park on a couple of boards or something to level it out

You beat me too it! I used a jack in the front with a 36" bubble level, since my garage and driveway slope to the road.

Another thing I use for tight plugs is take a fireplace starter that has torch feature and heat the plug. That helps break the bond on really tight ones. Has worked for me every time. Also undo the fill plug 1st. Nothing worse than removing drain plug and not being able to get fill plug off. Plus it won't "chug"when draining if you remove fill plug 1st.

Thanks OP, I just did mine today at 60K miles. The front dif and transfer case were both pretty clean but I had some buildup on the magnet. The rear diff was pretty bad. Thanks!

Got a new drain plug tool for a stripped out front I'll see how it works in the morning pretty hopeful for this one. I think this thing may be a must have for yoda owners

Also get a new plug with a 24mm like it should have had in the first place like all the other ones on the truck.CF83805A-8216-4E2C-A93C-6DB211152C87.jpg
