Is it ok to use the M1 75W90 LS in a 5spd manual transmission?
I'm doing all my diffs/transfer case with it and i need to do the transmission too.
    the M1 75W90 is GL4/GL5 rated...

or is recommended to go with Redline MT90?...I use M1 in all my stuff, so partial to that of course.

I've searched and cannot find this info?

    Thanks.

I would not use differential fluid in a manual transmission.
I would only use a fluid that was specifically made for it.

Not sure where you searched but, according to pg 460 of your Owner's Manual, your transmission calls for "Gear oil API GL-4 or GL-5... SAE 75W-90," meaning the Mobil 1 to which you referred will be just fine.

    Thanks Folks,

Yes, the manual says use 75w-90 GL4/GL5 gear oil...for the Manual Transmission.
But, because i could not definitively determine what the LS suffix actually means from the Mobil 1 website, other
    than some Limited Slip additives?....

    I went with the RL MT90 GL4.

Yeah it's the limited slip additive the mt90 doesn't have that so make sure and double check your rear differential doesn't call for it and you should be good.

So I got a 2007 4.0 v6 TRD OFF ROAD ( with rear locker) . I don’t think I need the LS additive and a lot of brands have it . Do I need it ? Will it hurt if I put it in my diff and tcase ? I’m lookin at mobile 1 synthetic LS 75w90 (6 qts for front and rear diff and tcase) which from what I read here is what I need That seems to be popular here .
    Thanks !

You won't need to put it in as the Mobil 1 already has it in there. 6 quarts should be good......3.5ish for the rear, 1.4ish for the front, and 1.2ish for the trans.

I don’t think my truck requires it , does it hurt anything or should I search for 75w90 without LS in it ?
