    Sae 80 is recommended in the manual. Lots of folks say just use 75w90 in both. Any recommendations?

    Pick one, pour it in.

    I picked 85w140. Mine leaked out the front breather when temps got cold.
    If you are lucky, yours will too. Most don’t, but some will

    Never seen or heard of 75, 80, or 90 doing it.
    So I’d recommend one of those.
    No need to get too technical. The front differential isn’t a precision part.

    Relocate the breather.

    75w90 is common. Extreme pressure gear spec. It’s not picky on brass synchro chemical spec.

    I use 75w140 because that’s what ECGS recommends if not more. Truck is regeared.

    only downside is at ambient temp it’s thick which made getting it in with my plunger not easy. Didn’t have a different style easier pump.

    they all can be made higher. It’s not high up in the engine compartment. They also clog. And I believe come as one way from the factory instead of two way which might be better.
