Front diff need LSD addicitive??

Ever since I changed my front and rear diff oil I am getting a strange grinding noise when I turn up front, could it be because I didn't put LSD addicitive up front? I heard the front didn't need it.... Help please

 

I don't see why the front diff would...It's an open diff...Not an LSD. Are you sure you filled it with enuf of the proper weight of oil??

 

nope, sounds like a wheel bearing or cv shaft issue to me...

 

Does the noise go away when your truck is in 4wd?

 

Ugh I hope not, ha is there a thread on changing either of those if it is cv joint or wheel bearings? And I'm not sure about the 4x4... Should I test that on a regular road? Heard that's not good in 4x4, thanks for the help guys

 

Putting your truck into 4Hi is a diagnostic procedure and it can help us help you. You can decide where to do it though. If your on pavement and going straight it should not hurt anything to shift in and out of 4wd. Dirt roads are best though.

 

Okay, I will try that tomorrow.... it doesn't happen everytime I turn. Only somtimes, kind of weird maybe because its just not that bad yet?
