Whenever I am doing low speed forward/reverse maneuvers, say like in a parkinglot or doing a 3 point turn, I hear a clunk in the front as I go from forward to backward or visa versa. I've had the wheels off to check the calipers, my first suspicion, and everything seems tight. Any idea's?

I've had this clunk / loud tap on all 3 of my 2nd gens, I just got used to it over time. My best bet after hours of searching is the brake pad(s) moving a little

Mine maybe does this when turning into /backing out of a parking space, driveway etc? Its less of a clunk tho and more of a POP!. Its been doing it since i lifted it 30,000 miles ago. Has never gotten any better or worse. i crawled all under there and attested it to upper ball joints being on odd angles due to stock UCA's. Does this sound similar to u?

Yeah I'd say a pop is more accurate than a clunk. I put on Billies to level the truck but did it so soon after purchase I can't say whether that causes it or not. I think the brake pad theory is the most likely.

Did you get an alignment done after the Billies? Could be your alignment bolts not torque to spec. A lot of people hear like a clunk noise after an alignment.

Yea, i would retorque it make sure its at 120 ft lbs. It might seem tight but if there not torque right they will clunk. Happened to me after my alignment.

I noticed on mine when I turn into my driveway there is a depression for water drainage. If I am on the brakes and turning I hear a clunk.

Doesn't do it off the brakes

Similar situation here. going forward to reverse and back again it will clunk everytime. New Stoptech rotors and hawk brakes. bilstien front and back but has been for a few years. feels like there is play in the rotor? centered on the hub just fine but maybe too big of holes for the wheel lugs? Hope we can get somewhere with this
