HI all I have a 2012 DCSB TRD 4x4. everything is solid with one exception. When I hit sharp bumps like a pothole I get a slight rattle from the front suspension. Its almost like a jingling noise. Nothing too bad, most bumps there's no noise, just when I hit larger sharp bumps.

Do you guys think there's something wrong? I'm taking it in soon for the 5K service so I want to be prepared. Or should I even mention it?

    Thanks!

bone stock. Could be the pad rattling now that you mention it. I wouldn't expect a new truck's pad to rattle thought but its a possibility.

Its really hard to recreate the noise because its only rattles when I hit hard bumps which is rare.

Too many to list. See build page. Link in signature
There is also a tsb issued for the intermediate steering shaft clunking and rattling over rough and bumpy roads. Not sure if this issue was addressed in 2012 models but I have an 09 and they did the tab for me. Turns out that wasn't even what was wrong but regardless I have the new steering shaft now. Its supposedly tighter (less front end play) during bumpy driving conditions also which is noticeable IMO. I know there is some type of zip tie mod/fix to address this issue that is very simple. I didn't find out until after my tsb was already completed but you may want to try that first see if it fixes it. Sounds like this could be more likely what your describing. I'm sure another member can explain the zip tie fix cause I really don't know much about it since it didn't affect me. I've heard it works great though and actually lasts too :)

06 DCSB with 98k and I have never heard the pads rattle or what ever they call it, which would be a dull sound because of the pad lining not the jingling type sound you describe
my suggestion would be to jack up the front or put on lift and smack the tire with a BFH at the 6 or 7 o'clock poss. too repilcate a sharp bump and see what you find

mention it and tell the advisor you'd like to go on a road test with the shop foreman so you can show him the noise and it will get resolved if its an abnormal noise

My 12 sport short bed has 3,000 miles on it it started to rattle sounds like a aluminum ladder on a pick up truck rack. It should be tight as a ducks ass for a 35 thousand dollar truck with 3 grand on the clock. Thank god I have the extended warranty I got a bad feeling I will need it.

I have a 2012 reg. cab that I just recently put an O.M.E. 3" lift on. Now when I shift gears, as I depress the clutch and the rpm's start to drop as I move the stick between gears I hear a rattle coming from the front of the truck. I can't feel a vibration but there is a definite rattle. I have looked everywhere. Any ideas?
