Front end vibration after lift

Just got done doing an OME lift with 886's. Getting a little vibration in the front now....real subtle but it feels/sounds like rumble strips.

Could this just be due to a needed alignment? I'm not going to be able to get that done until next week when I get the new tires on.

 

you need to install the East Coast Gear Supply Clamshell bushing in place of the drivers side needle bearing in the front diff.

I had the same thing.. The sure way to tell if its the bad needle bearing is to shift into 4 high while experiencing the vibration. if the noise stops in 4high its the bad bearing and you need the ECGS bushing.

im 99.9999% sure thats what it is. The bushing is $60 and take about an hour to swap out.

 

I take it you have to pull the axle shaft? Can I keep driving on it until I get to it?

 

Yes, its 100% safe to drive on. just annoying.


and yes, you'll have to pull out the drivers side CV shaft. Its super easy though. plenty of videos on youtube for it

 

Is something that happens to trucks that are not lifted also?

 

I've done it on a little Honda Civic....just a PITA!

 

Its possible, but much less likely. A good percent of 4x4 guys get the vibration after a 3" lift.

Thats a pretty good advisor if they dont care since the lift most likely exasterbated it

 

Was this before lift? Or after lift? Or after you took the lift off?

Interesting that some people on that thread said it went away with a diff drop

 

One other thing....I went with the 886 coils because I am putting on a C4 fab lo pro winch mount and winch so its probably a bit nose high at the moment. Wonder when I install that stuff it will be the weight it needs up front to make that noise go away?

 

Mine did it even after just the 885's. 1.5 inches up front. Had the ecgs bushing installed. All better now.

 

My stock trd sport is doing this. Cyclical vibration felt in the steering wheel and pedals. like a resonance with a low beat frequency. Looks like the tsb isnt doing or the 3rd gen?

 

Just lifted mine 3" over the weekend and have this problem too...
