Has anyone compared the vibration effect at low speeds in 4H? It's raining today so I thought I would try it on a straight-a-way at roughly 40mph and the vibration was nearly non-existent.

I have a little of the vibration but it is not consistent. Only around 70-72 mph and when I let off the accelerator. It was not a constant vibe, but more so a short burst that lasted maybe 5 seconds tops. It did it more with stock UCAs and now much more faint with SPC UCAs. It was more noticeable with MTs and much less with KO2s.

Note the shiny spots where the bearing rides on the axle. That was less than 10k of driving after lifted. The needle bearing had considerable play, didnt measure but id guess easily .010 vs maybe .001 on the ecgs bushing. If the warehouse were open while i was doing the job j wouldve replaced the axle

What size bearing race did you use for the install? Trying to save a few and just buy the size i need for this, instead of the whole kit

Damn, you just made me order the bushing with that pick. I have noticed it but have been putting it off with the cold/snow, now will be finding time and doing it over my next 2 weeks off.

Crazy I have the same problem, I just lifted my the day before.
So it's the Needle Bearing? And the dealer will repair it under warranty

Just lifted my 17 tonight, only 700 miles on it and i get that rumble strip feeling, it's almost like a pulsating. was hoping it was because the camber is so far out. guess i'll order the bushing.

Question, do you know how the dealer repairs this issue, I've read on this forum that they replace the entire front dif, which really doesn't solve the problem....

Disregard I found the tsb for the fix, unfortunately they use same size needle bearing with smaller inner needle bearing inside don't know this would help because it's not long enough to support the cv shaft...

This is for the 2nd gens, not the third gens.

Maybe/probably but I doubt a dealer will apply a 2nd gen TSB fix to a third gen. Hell, its hard enough to get them to do the transmission TSB.

Lol...my dealer sucks. Took it in for the rear diff howling noise. Service advisor wanted me to agree to a $60 diagnosis charge in case, and I am quoting here, "a mouse may have gotten in there and chewed something up".

My 2007 FJ Cruiser, 2015 4Runner, and my 2017 Tacoma all have done this only when it is cold. It seems like Toyota would figure this out and fix it. They did it at stock height and lifted.

Well I just lifted my 17 and have exactly the vibration that is discussed here. With 4wd high it goes away. I'm going to order the aftermarket bushing. Question. My mechanic will do the work, any ideal the hours required for this? Guessing 3 or so. I actually felt the vibration in the steering wheel before the lift but after it is worse even with a diff drop.

Shouldn't be more than 2-3hrs if they know what they are doing.

    I'd say 2hrs.

For all the folks wanting their dealer to cover it under the 2nd gen TSB, good luck.

My dealer laughed me out of the service department. Blamed the lift, blamed the tires, blamed it on George Bush. Blamed it on everything except their shitty part that they keep using.

I had this issue after I lifted my 16. Had the dealer replace he front diff under warranty. It was fine for about 200 miles or so before the issue came back. I put in the ECGS bushing and haven't had any problems since. Don't count on the dealer being able to fix the issue for you, they are just going to use the same shit part.
