My dealer mounted my front license plate bracket before I could tell them not to. Once I remove it I want to plug the holes. What have you guys been doing to fill the holes left behind when the bracket is removed? I found Bumper Plugs that are painted to match but wanted something that will blend in. Thanks!!

I'm in the same boat. The only other thing I thought of is to fill in the holes with some type of hard filler, then file it smooth and put some touch-up paint over it. You'd still be able to see it if you looked closely, but you probably wouldn't notice it walking by.

Could always fill them...or you could throw some lights in the holes and wire them up to your parking lights like I did! This is the best picture that I have of them as of now.Photo Jul 26, 2 05 27 PM.jpg

That's what I'm thinking. Actually thought about the same thing with filler and touch up paint. But!! Really like the lights in the holes.

My truck is on order and I asked the dealer not to have it mounted and he said that leagally they have to do it in California. Anyone know if this is true? If so, is there any type of liability waiver I can sign? I plan on mounting plate to a light bar of some type.

I have purchased three Mustangs with no front plate - the last two times, they had a waiver form stating that the plate was supposed to be there, and any liability coming from driving without the front plate was mine. So it is done by some dealers. I never got a ticket for not having a front plate, but some people do. More than anything, I think the cops use it as an excuse to check you out if you look suspicious. My wife got pulled over for having a headlight out two weeks ago and they didn't even say anything about the front plate not being there.

Thanks I'll see if they have a waiver or I'll write one up and see what they say.

I caught my truck before it went through prep and I specifically asked them to leave off the front license plat bracket and amazingly, they did what I asked. They did not put up any fuss or ask me to sign a waiver when I asked about it. I even said that if they were legally required to do it, then do what they had to do. This was in California, but who knows if they actually know the laws or their potential liability (if any). It's not like the truck has plates right now, so it wouldn't make any difference when it rolls off the lot.

Maybe your dealer just wants their name up there on the paper plate.

So I also did the "Raptor Lights" in my grill, and used this Thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/raptor-light-mod.205518/. I did this long before I did the license plate lights. Check out post #9, and it shows you how the wires are connected.

Once I got the idea for the license plate lights, I just tapped into my "Raptor Lights" to get them power.

I used these lights from oznium: http://www.oznium.com/led-bolt.

I bought the 11mm, but if I had to go back, I would have gotten the 6mm. You'll see they come in a number of colors, but I chose to stay away from red and blue because I did not want any additional reason for cops to look my way!

Here's another picture I snapped last night. Not the best quality, but you get the idea.

Also a note about my front set up - I lived in MA, and moved to SC. In MA, you are required to have a front license plate. No big deal, truck came with it mounted on there. Learned about the website, saw the idea of a light bar, didn't think to much of it until I moved to SC, where I changed my plates, and all they gave me was one for the rear. Well then since I didn't have a plate, I could install the light bar, but like many of you have realized, those awful holes really started to get to me, so I did the same thing the OP did and started looking at solutions. Found the lights and here we are! Well fast forward to present time, I am now back in MA, and needed a front plate. could not get an inspection sticker without it. Didn't want to ditch the light bar and lights and go back to the original license plate holes, so I started digging around.

Anyway the reason I explained that is to give you guys that have a light bar or want a light bar set up and have a front plate an option!

Found this on ebay for a Ram: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231332620423?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT, and with a little bit of trimming off the sides, it fits nicely on the lower bumper of the truck...but I did have to make some more tiny holes to mount it...But at least now I have a permanent spot for the plate, a light bar, and some additional cool lights where I had 2 ugly holes!

Yeah mine was stashed in the cab also. I will have to figure out something once I actually get my plates though. I do not want to have to install that thing.
