Front license plate on their truck

Nevada is kinda messed up. If you have a front license plate holder, you need a front plate. If you don't have one, you don't need a front plate. Since the Taco doesn't have a license plate holder, don't need to wear one.

 

Ohio requires both, but I’m rebelling - no front plate for me !! Fortunately the stealership didn't punch the holes, I guess my Taco is still a virgin.

 

i like it! how exactly did you mount it? i wonder if that would fly in Cali...

 

usually states that require the front plate are suppose to be mid level of the Vehicle and visible from some certain distance. well that is what the cops told me after getting pulled over several times for not having one here in CO

 

First mod I did was taking that piece q crap off

 

Welp- I had mounting holes, with filler expansion anchors, on my Taco. NV DMV only issued one plate for every vehicle I've licensed here, so they made the decision for me. So I made my Victory Motorcycles plate and slapped it on.

 

Ugh! I live in PA. where it's not required, but bought my truck just across the border in NJ where it is. Now I'm stuck with the holes until I fork up the cash for that silly plug kit.

 

Texas is pretty bad about giving out tickets for no front plate. But luckily it's only a $75 ticket.

 

I agree. On the frequent occasions when I'm driving drunk with dead hookers and the bodies of prosecuting attorney's I have just killed in the truck, I studiously reattach the front plate, as well as double checking that my tail lights are operational.

On the rare occasions in which I am driving legally and have nothing to hide, I prefer no plate . . . or the UK design. Natcherly this causes me lots of attaching, detaching and reattaching of licence plates, but the aesthetics are worth it.

BTW, Call me 'crazy', but whenever I have a dead hooker or 300 pounds of illicit drugs in the trunk[?] I never give the law enforcement officers permission to open the trunk. This is another reason not to use an open pickup truck to transport dead bodies or drugs. A citizen has a greater expectation of privacy in a locked compartment, according to various Supreme Courts. . . or so I have been told.

 

That looks great man. You don't even notice the license plate. Thankfully in Alberta we don't need those things.

I have had the military police on Camp Pendleton tell me that I needed to put my front license plate on so I did. Now it is mounted on my All-Pro bumper shown in my sig below.

 

That's funny. Can you imagine the look on the cop's face after pulling you over because of no front plate, and you're like..."What?" only to get out and show him/her it's there. That would be priceless!

 

I cut out some of the lower grid with the dremel, installed some mesh with zip ties then zip tied the plate to the grill/grid

 

Your Taco has a trunk? Must be a Jersey thing...

 

I thought if the vehicle came with holes from the factory you needed one but if not, then you didnt.

 

From what someone else said (and they showed pics before the holes were drilled), the vehicles come with dimples from the factory as to where the holes to be drilled go. The holes are actually drilled at the dealership. Not sure if this is actually true, but it makes sense since the dealership puts their own license plate frames on them.
