Before you go to the depot and spend a few extra dollars, call Line-X and ask them if it can be done with that spray already on there. It's not thick at all. It's just perfect. In fact, I had some scratches on it and the Line-X made it look new again. The guy at Line-X said if I happen to take any off without damaging the skid plate, that they would touch it up for free. Get this! They use a spray can with a rubberized material for the touch-ups. Haha, it might even be the same stuff you're using now. Call them first.

I took some rubberized coating off a billet grille with some Aircraft Stripper that I got from WalMart and a wire brush from a BBQ. Had to do just a little sanding to get some of it off but the majority came off with no problems.

Came right off with graffiti remover ($8) and a powerwash. Dropped it off to get line-x'd on the one side as we speak. ;)

Only did the front side based on the recommendation of the line-x guy. He said it would curl the corners (which it did) and I would be better off just saving $50 and painting the back black (which he suggested a specific modeling paint that would hold up to the midwest elements).

On a side note, he told me to avoid most spraypaint style paints for putting the "TRD" on there as they would wear off quickly in the elements. He told me to go to a hobby lobby and get some modeling paint and to do it up that way. Ill post a thread when I do it. Instead of stencil-spray Im going to do it free hand. He also said that if I dont like the results, damn near anything will come off the Line-X with ease.
