    Don't go to the dealer without it. The best way to go about it is to find the truck you want with the options you want on the dealer's lot (use their online inventory). Then go to TrueCar and build the same Taco with the same options, print out that certificate and take it with you. If your dealer is a TrueCar dealer, they'll honor it for sure. Even most non-TrueCar dealers will honor it because they want the sale. It'll certainly save you time & money.

    I didn't know about it when I bought my Taco. But I wish I did. I honestly discovered it 1/2 way through helping my friend negotiate his FJ. We haggled and battled and fought with 2 different dealerships on price before going home to do additional research when I found TrueCar. We ran the vehicle he wanted through the system (it's free) printed out that paper & went back to the dealers. BOOM .. negotiation over and another $1000 over what we had already negotiated was saved. It was amazing how they caved to it.

    I actually didnt even buy through a truecar.com dealer, another dealer matched the price.
