I learned that today at autozone scrolling through their car selection for a part. I'm wondering why you'd bother with an offroad 4x2?

My father has a 4x2 f150....in South Texas. Where sleet is the worst driving condition to worry about. It's perfectly viable there, as it never leaves the pavement.

Now an "offroad" vehicle....I don't know how anyone justifies a 4x2. Maybe on a quad bike.

4x4 is a must where I live when there's 2feet of snow/ice without it I would be sitting in the driveway spinning my tires

There are a number of people who want the suspension package for gravel road driving, and the e-locked 2wd rear for conditions like...well, wet gravel roads, towing small horse trailers on loose pack dirt, or pulling a boat up a wet ramp.

Again, I'm not sure that I wouldn't just get 4x4 as it nets good traction in those scenarios, plus an increased residual value when you sell, but some folks want only what they need and don't want to have to put down extra cash up front.
