Is the alignment pin of comparable strength to the existing pin on the seat bracket?

 

Yes, I don't have exact measurements but it's very close. The pin in the block measures just over 3/4".

 

I just reread your question and you're asking about strength, not length. Sorry about that. I cant speak to the strength of the roll pin in the block but I will say that the pin is for alignment only. There's no force or stress on the pin once the bolts are torqued. If the Class 10.9 bolt fails and your are relying on the pin to hold you, you've got bigger problems. This is the case for the factory pin and the pin in the block.
