Ft. Hood Shooting

Anybody hear about the shooting today at Ft. Hood in TX? Various reports say 7 dead and between 12 and 20 injured. One in custody, manhunt on for another one (possibly two).

Reports say the shooters were wearing military clothing, but there's no confirmation about whether they were members of the military or not.

I think these two went a-wall, .....sad for the families who have lost love ones. I hate to think about them getting .."that phone call"

 

That's what I think too... I think they just went crazy... Probably after a deployment, probably coordinated... definitely sad.

Oh yea man... I work on a base too... so I expect full vehicle searches for a while man. I expect 100% lockdown...

In the Marines - we were told we had to turn our personal weapons into the Armory. As such, most of us just didn't have them...

 

-Shooter went into Soldier Readiness Facility where pre-deploying troops get last minute medical checkups. He was a soldier and was shot dead by base contract/civilian police.

-2 additional suspects (also Soldiers) are in custody (after being tracked by eyewitness accounts). All casulties occured in the Soldier Readiness Facility (old sports dome complex) at 1330 - no children were in the vicinity.

Units Affected: Multiple Units

Weapons: Both used were handguns

Bottomline: 12 dead, 31 wounded

I guess "luckily" is the best word I can use- but the base here is a training base- so there isn't much in the way of folks coming back or launching out from major deployments...so we might not have quite the same reaction....but it's still scary...=\

Still tears my heart out to know that those affected made it thru so much...to have this happen.

 

Terrible news for all those involved.

 

This is terrible. I have a few friends that are stationed at Fort Hood and I can only hope that none of them were effected by this. There is also a handful of TW members that are stationed at Fort Hood. Lets say a prayer for these guys and hope none of our own were effected by this tragedy.

12 dead 31 wounded as of 4:30 CST. Bound to be more.

Ft. Hood is the largest Army military base in the world with about 50,000 military personel, 10,000 private citizens, housing sub-divisions, schools, stores and so on. Wouldn't be surprized if some of the dead and or wounded are women and children.

Damn...

 

will be sayin a prayer tonight for the families affected by this. what has the world come to? its really depressing that we have to worry about this kind of stuff

 

This is so sad.
My buddy is there right now, he said 12 dead and 32 wounded. But he couldn't tell me if the gunman is dead or not, as well as his motives as to why he started shooting people.

Also, he said not to listen to the media, because they are NOT allowed onto the base at this time, so everything could be speculation at this point.
