Got mine done. Seems about the same. Although the gage is for sure in a different spot that it usually is at empty and full, the Inside of the truck smells of fuel. Do they do anything inside the truck when replacing the pump. Possibly an access door behind the rear seats?

That would be the tech who got gas all over himself and then got into your truck.

I have an appointment for one of my Toyota Care oil changes tomorrow morning. My truck is on the recall list and if the service writer doesn't mention it, I'll ask him what the status is. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say.

I guess that’s what I get for bringing them a truck with 0 miles to empty on the dash to make it easier for them.

So probably late to the party but we got our second or third notice on this via the mail. Yeah I know....read your mail.

I set up a call with the dealer on this and it takes a couple weeks for the parts to ship according to the Service Advisor.

Scheduled for 11 Dec (waiting on parts and will have loaner).....

My question for all of the posters here......did you have this

"Safety Recall 20TA02 (Remedy Notice), Multiple Models and Model Years, Vehicle May Stall During Driving at Higher Speed"

While I don't know what "Higher speed" is....I haven't had an issue whatsoever. Either way it is getting done....kind of a pain but if it needs to be done so be it.

My other question......for those running an aftermarket Skid Plate for the fuel tank such as what I have "RCI" one?

Did you remove that prior to heading in?

    Thanks!

Is it safe to assume trucks just built will have a fuel pump that isn’t defective?

I cannot have the only unicorn truck that does not need this. I checked when the recall went to over a million and just rechecked today.

Well mine doesn't have any recalls at all either but I'm guessing no 16's have this problem? Are you an early model 17?

Is there another Toyota service center you can call nearby? This sounds suspect.

Just got my truck back the other day. They had to keep it another week because when they were installing the fuel pump they said the fuel line wouldn't connect to it properly, so they had to order new fuel lines. It drives pretty much the same as before but I noticed my gas mileage is pretty crappy now. Used to be consistently above 18mpg highway, but now it dropped down to 13mpg with no changes to my driving habits.

@Matchu you might be experiencing "winter blend fuel mileage drop". here in the north (michigan), we experience this each late fall, early winter. once the summer blend fuels come back (aprilish), it goes back to "normal". Ski

I was able to refill the tank and take it back out yesterday, then drove for 50 miles on the highway and noticed mpg got closer to what I was getting before the recall work. I guess I'll classify my previous tank's bad gas mileage as just an anomaly.

Has anyone done the recall and still experiencing fuel pump lag? Had mine done recently (1st week of October) and notice a few days ago it will do it when I am stop and about to go (maybe 2-3 times to this date).

Taking it back to get it inspected again.
